Rifts: New West review
I did a review of World Book 14: New West. You can access it here. The New West world book is one of my favorites. Check it out.

I just love the idea of cruising around the wide open spaces with a nice mount that tells folks "Hey. I'm a bad ass wizard. Keep away before I curse you."

Thanks. I'm grateful. I was reading Lone Star last night so I could review it. For some reason, I can't get into Spirit West. Even though I have a copy.

I agree that it's one of the better settings and world books. Can you elaborate on what you mean by "OCCs aren't balanced with other World books."?
The word "THAN" is important. Something is "better than" something else, not "better then", it's "rather than" not "rather then".

I can. But I'll have to re-read Rifts: Japan in order to make my case.

Ahhhh yes, essentially you can add "Ninja" to a pre-existing OCC and they are just better. The only OCC I can think of that suffered from this in New West was the Crazy Gun Slinger because they got auto-dodge whereas the normal Crazy didn't at the time of publication. However now that the RUE standard Crazy gets auto-dodge I don't see it as wildly better (although they do get some pretty good gun-slinger skills without a huge loss to other skills the Crazy normally gets.

the psi-slinger in new West actually could do the cyberknight thing better than the Cyberknight OCC from the RMB (before the SoT4 power up). the psislinger got nearly all the same powers, a similar skillset.. plus all those gun related powers and gunslinger skills.
