So the party wants to collect Deevil bones.
After killing a few and their disappearing into dust or sand two things came up:
1. Can they cut off a Deevil's arm to have the bones. I know Deevils regenerate, what I don't know is will their limbs grow back. Also, if they kill the Deevil after they sever a limb do they get to keep the bone or does it disappear.
2. What are Deevil bones good for? From what I read in the book it says the bones are good for magic but are never specific.

Re: Deevil Bones
There is text that says that SN body parts have to be specially prepared for them to remain as physical objects. It doesn't state any specific spell that does this stabilization.
Permanency Runes. See the word mage in the PFRPG 2nd ed core book for what specific details that there is.

Re: Deevil Bones
There is a table in the Dyval and Hades books that you can roll on when something dies to find out what happens.
usually the body is destroyed but sometimes a small bit of bone is left behind.
I would, myself, interpret this as applying to severed limbs as well.
Unless of course your in the apropriate hell.
Then the body just sits there... you can farm bone in hell but...you know... in hell.

The rules are not a bludgeon with which to hammer a character into a game. They are a guide to how a group of friends can get together to weave a collective story that entertains everyone involved. We forget that at our peril.

DB 11 Dyval, pg 17 ... the table
I've always played that the table applies to both types of infernals.
I'd agree severed limbs would experience the same effect, but with a bit of delay for a) dramatic effect and b) in case the demon/deevil quickly picked it up and stuck it back on relying on their regenerative healing to seal the wound.
