Savage World's investment
I have no interest in PLAYING Savage Worlds Rifts but it's my understanding that there is some interesting fluff in it. So I was wondering what everyone's thoughts were concerning whether or not investing in those books is worth it purely for the fluff?

Re: Savage World's investment
I use some of the Rifts SW plot points for ideas to run on my classic Rifts.

Probably not a ton. Others can correct me but, IME, there's not a lot of new world information, mostly old stuff contextualized for Savage Worlds, plus the addition of the Tomorrow Legion.

I have most of the SW Rifts books and I agree with Ogre. The Tomorrow Legion is interesting plot device for characters but I have used some of the groups in Nightbane, HU or the Lazlo Society to perform the same function while tying it to other games and even ancient history.Library Ogre wrote: ↑Thu Aug 01, 2024 11:21 amProbably not a ton. For me it's the extras like the Pawn set that I like although I haven't used them much.

Re: Savage World's investment
I will note that I am slightly salty about their Empires of Humanity coverage of Houstown, which wasn't terribly different than WB 13s... while, when I wrote mine (Savage Worlds, Megaversal), I went "excrement excrement excrement" and had to rewrite things to deal with the MASSIVE Coalition Naval base in Beaumont introduced in CS Navy. And they just... ignored it.Library Ogre wrote: ↑Thu Aug 01, 2024 11:21 am Probably not a ton.
