RUE makes no mention of the gemstones for TW'ing Space Magic spells. so what could they be?
Should they be the same as Temporal magic (quartz and tourmaline) or what?
Opinions, people?

Than the Sage among his Books,
For all the Empires and Kingdoms,
The Armies and Works that you hold Dear,
Are to him but the Playthings of the Moment,
To be turned over with the Flick of a Finger,
And the Turning of a Page"

Re: Space Gems?
In my house rule log I see "TW gems for Space spells - diamonds or star sapphires"
Not sure how it landed that way... well, "star" sapphires is pretty obvious.
Might have been something in one of the books... but unfortunately I do not have a reference.

Re: Space Gems?
I only had to deal with this for a few spells but all I did was find a similar spell and then apply those gems. So a spell like Locate Life Signs (level 7) so I used Tiger Eye like see in magic darkness.
In the alternative using the same ones as Air or temporal spells work.

Re: Space Gems?
It might be fun to have it be less about the specific stone than how it was obtained. Maybe Soace Magic spells require stones only mined from within a vacuum. This could lead to interesting results like terrestrial mines maintaining artificial vacuum, which could help potentially limit gas explosions.
Re: Space Gems?
All good ideas. One of the reasons floated in the past as to why gems need to be natural rather than manufactured to work for TW is that they soak in magical energies over a long time. When it comes to gems for Space magic, I like the idea that circumstance matters. For example, gems from inside asteroids that may have their orbit pass through a nexus or at least intersect a space ley line. Given the flexibility of a space setting, this could give rise to unique ways gems form - like rubies that accrete in the poop of space whales that they shoot out to escape predators. Perhaps Handwavium in its crystalline form...

Space Whale bezoars....well, that's a niche career....Space Whale Excrement Harvester.
A lot of hunting, a lot of stalking, but high rewards if you can strike it.
Though you might want to embellish your resume a bit to make it sound a lot better.
(There's a line in the movie "The Gods Must Be Crazy" where the love-smitten naturalist bemoans that he can't explain to the woman he's attracted to because she might misunderstand what he does, which includes sifting through wildlife droppings to ascertain their general state of health....)
