What do the books say about Kaliningrad?

Unread post by SolCannibal »

Have been watching some videos on eastern europe and the Baltic, what has sparked an itch to explore the territory - most probably as something apart of the Sovietskii and warlords, or at least somewhat autonomous if somewhat related.

WB36 pg 38-39 is the key book reference - two whole pages! Kaliningrad is a Sovietski fortress city of ~500k people under siege since Summer PA 109 by a brodkil army of ~100k (incl simvan and gargoyles) backed by the Angel of Death. So, beyond the walls of the city and reach of their guns, you'd be in battle-hardened monster territory. Depending on the PCs, the experience travelling through the region could vary.

Oh well, pretty much what i expected from a few quick citations related to King Woytila in Aftermath. Kaliningrad with a status that is near carbon copy of the contemporary one - time of Rifts and a few centuries of cultural and state changes and break-up of contact due to societal-economic colapse and the need to adapt or be trampled by monster hordes notwithstanding.

At least now i know what to look into before rewriting things more to my taste. Still going to be very much a fortress city but also its own nation, more like Monaco & Luxembourg or maybe Singapore than a Sovietski satelite.
