Chello!

There's just something about the classic dungeon crawl though....it can have mystery, h&s, quest, adventure and horror within it.

Adventure is my choice here. I co-created the world I GM, so I am always trying to get my players to go out and explore the land and breathe some history of their own into it. Occasionally I will do a dungeon crawl with some H&S in it but that is usually just a subplot to give a little action to the story as they go along. I do not do mysteries (i really do not like to play them only read them), damsels are old, books, heck if I did that the players would know how it ends (I read books they have already read and recommend). I generally stick away from daemons, I really hate the idea of PC's kicking daemon behind. Anyway adventure leads to more adlib and more fun .
There is always a 5%chance of anything happening...even a monkey can crawl out of your butt.

Flamethrowers, that's what we need. The army has them, why can't we have them too?

I would say though, that I am a little light on the hack and slash and rarely use an idea from a novel.

I'd have to agree with these statements. I like to have to PCs think through the adventure; when there is intrigue the story seems to just make itself as the players come up with reasons as to why the mystery has occurred. Many times the PCs will take these adventures down avenues I hadn't even thought of; I'll sometimes go off of these ideas and ditch the ideas I had plotted out (or at least modify them).

Depending on the senario, I get to play or run most of these kinds of genres. Adventure and quest happens to be the most popular for me.

Our group plays/played all formats listed in a continuous interaction, not any one particular. We'd be baffled by Mysteries while in stand up Hack'N'Slash fights caused by us Adventuring for something found in a Book that seemed to be the good source of a Quest until a Search and Rescue mission lead us to a Dungeon Crawl filled with all the Horror of a well planned Political Intrigue. Play it all, or don't play at all, was our M.O.

For me it's all of the above. As with any good story you can always throw a few plot twists in here and there to make the best of it..

Ultimately lots of my games are character driven. The PCs should have personal goals and motivations for themselves. Sure I'll toss them a lead or two but in the end it's the players who decide weather or not to help out the damsel in distress or to save her only to ransom her off for a higher price then the reward. :)

While I prefer all types, my Palladium Fantasy games have been either indirectly or directly quests. Mainly because I am fascinated by the heroes journey concept. Doesn't mean I don't use elements of the others its that my fantasy campaigns are quests most of the time. The only campaign type that I rarely run is horror. I simply find horror to hard to run partly because the players need to know that its a horror adventure or campaign.

BEST PFRPG Scenario

All are great...(being nice)...but seriously though...

Nothing beats the epic QUEST! If u have ever played The Hand of Tezuan in the Western Empire book then u should know better. First of all having many adventures/dungeon crawls/mystery are impossible to avoid when running a quest. A quest is, in my opinion, a huge campaign set for the pc's to achieve one goal but must complete many smaller goals to get there. Traveling acrosss the world of palladium is always fun and lets you make use of your pc's diverse skills and diverse combat abilities. Also in my opinion, a quest should be taken seriously and in high stakes, I'm talking about pc's deaths, a lengthy campaign, lots of experience, all requiring active and resourceful and a diverse group of adventurers.

All hail the Quest!
