but I can't fins any new spells. I kept seeing refrences in my other books to see it for spell like lightblade, so I got it. . .

So then you would have to buy Rifts: Book of Magic, which is where the lost spells can be found.

that's that's no good. now if they had said somewhere on their online catalog that they had taken the spells out, but sinse ALL of the books I have that reference spells from it say to look in FoM, that's what I did.

and now it's not there.

I'm serious, if anyone of you at Palladium Books actually reads this topic, I wonder if I can somehow get my hands on the old version. I read that it ahd more info on Dweomer in it but it was never made clear that the spells that were listed in it were taken out, and with all the refrences to it in other books, I had no reason to question it.

alternitivly, can I get a copy of the Book of Magic by exhcange maybe. I just don't have the money to buy another book right now. the reason I wanted the FoM was to get these cool new spells everyone was refering to.

and the main problem is I now have a bunch of OCC's I can't use really sinse they all have spells I don't have. I would've paid the extra money to have both the new dwomer info and the spells too, but I don't have teh money to buy a new book. gamers tend to run on a tight budget you know.

and does anyone here know who I can contact about this maybe?

They note it in the description on the online store.

"Since the Rifts Book of Magic contains all spells, we saw no reason to reprint the spells that originally appeared in this book. We are replacing it with data, people and places in the magic city of Dweomer."

Why did they do that? To save money on printing obviously. It was actually a smart decision. They just have to hope that people read book descriptions before they buy.

well, it still requires them to buy a new book to use characters dipicted in that book, which is silly, but if I missed It I think it's partially my fault, I did read it, but I apparently missed it.

I still can't afford the BoM though, sigh

and I can't agree that it's a smart idea, they should have put it in a diffrent book entirely, not reprinted it entirely

I was happy to see the revision (addition) of FoM. I don't have the original version of the FoM; in fact, I waited until the new version of the FoM came out before I purchased this book because I knew that in the future I'd be buying the BoM.

I knew well in advance through this website that these changes were going to occur within FoM, which saved me the $18 that would be needed to repurchase this book for the new information.

It'd probably be better if the description clearly stated there are no spells in this book. As is, it sounds like it doesn't reprint spells that are in the BoM, not that it doesn't contain any spells at all.

"The spells that originally appeared in this book...etc" doesn't clearly reference that ALL spells have been removed from this book.

Should just take a second to edit the catalog, for good faith purposes.

can have...almost 20...

then later in the PPE section it mentions they only get 10.

Yep, it says the same thing. On page 72 it lists 20 spells, "The Battle Magus Starts with the following: ..."

And on page 73 it says, "They start with 10 spells that can be selected from any level."

huh? it's not broken, they start with all the one's on page 72, AND they pick 10 spells from any level, and they learn 3 new spells per level they lern on their own, but can only be taught 2 new spells per level

then again he dosn't belive in doing anything that's not in the rules books, mostly sinse my GM is a rules lawyer. I only play with him sporadically, when I feel like being muchkin, sinse he dosn't belive in questioning any interpetation i have of a rule

Sounds pretty lousy to me. I thought Palladium was above this sort of greed-driven marketing. Isn't that why they've kept their prices low while everyone else is chargind $40+ for core books? Just plain ridiculous if you ask me.
