How was he killed? I'm assuming that it was by being assaulted by these scouts, right. How much damage was actually dealt to him, because if it was just to zero or higher than your PE as a minus, he would be in a coma and very much alive (this is the case for hit points, and many times they refer to MDC being equilivant to hit points for healing). Otherwise I see no other avenue except for someone using resurrection on the character, either they were on the prison world (which begs the question to be asked, how come they haven't gotten off themselves), or your body was taken/stolen off-world and attended there.

I am very much in the way of new to this site but I do much love Phase world I have ran the game several times. so I do know about Cosmo Knights and such as per Anvil Galaxy etc.. etc...
NOw the problem I see is that you are the only character left that knows the story line. well thats more work for your GM maybe/maybe not but I myself hate seeing my story fall apart after I have put sometime into it, lol that when you learn that the story goes on with or without the PC's. I would also like to say sorry for his death, the lose of your favorite character is pretty rough, but to let you know there is NO write-up for this at all, and by al rights he is dead and not coming back.
but my view on the subject is this
1. the evil that you are fighting, is it of great risk to the Forge itself, or could be seen as a trimmer to the Pool of the Forge i.e. where would the galaxy stand if this evil where to not be fought,
2. Your DM has to be able to handle the power difference between you and your other fellow players becasue if the Forge were to bring you to life you would be a embodiment of the Forge giving you great power beyond what you had.
3. Jarus's would no longer be Jarus... and Jarus would know this becasue he is now part of the Raw power of the Forge, so he would see himself mainly as a shell but with Jarus's memories

but as far as how powerful you become that is totally up to the DM and what not the two of you need to get togther on that. And do realize that there is no write-ups for this and would have to be done all homebased

if you want have your DM e-mail me becasue I have had this same situation happen to my player and I do have the rough copy of what I gave him .....GoodLuck

qubecfalling1000@yahoo.com

but remeber Jarus, if your DM does not decide to do this rember this game is all about fun so remake and rebuild and have fun
and if possible I would like to learn more about the story line

Well my response is more for your GM Calakin. How integral is Jarus to your campaign? If he is the main character then you might want to cut the player some slack. Most of the characters in my games are usually very integral and I weave various plots around the different characters. For some reason if the player gets his character killed, either by a roll of the dice or some stupid action, I can sometimes opt for the, everything fades to black. That is from the characters point of view. No in game mechanics, the character might be legitimately dead, but I'll flub it and the character wakes up, either as a prisoner, or some other circumstance with only a few points above zero. It happens all the time in the movies and such, and can be used to further your campaign. If your a stickler for the rules, then I can't kelp ya. I see making a new character at this point a waste of your (the GM's time) as now you have to change all the groundwork you laid out. At least to some degree. That’s how I handle things. I work to hard to make a good game to let a death stand in the way.

In a game I'm a player the GM has a similar view. One of my characters insanities makes him rage like a berserker. (Kind of funny for a wizard if you think about it) and its gotten him killed on more than one occasion. The game was also an epic level game going against the four horsemen, so by some miracle this chick resurrected him. Katrina Sun, AKA Isis. Now the GM had done a lot of work, and would have had to pretty much scrap the game without my character.

So as I see it...GM's call.

well I am not sure if Death is cool that sounds kind of funny kind of suits your name though ....lol :-P yes it is true, why did the Forge just not bring Lothar back ...well I guess it was not meant for him to come back.
But I really enjoy playing, running and watching this game and I have noticed becasue the game is so large that there are alot of things that contradict each other and lot of things that have to be either revamp'd or Op-DM's houserule or at least It has been like that for me, now this is not me ragging on this game at all, I love Rifts ....... but I do think there would be room in Palladium for a Cosmo-Knight to be ressurected... only my thoughts...... :D

Tyciol wrote:Even if the body could somehow be retrieved, he's pretty resistant to magic so a ressurection isn't too likely. The Forge will not bring him back, otherwise Lothar would be back in the Hammer of the Forge Rifter story. Death is cool.

Actually Cosmo-Knights do not have any special resistance to magic and even if they did that would only be while they were alive. Maybe the Forge has a reason to bring this Knight back.

To the GM, If it is easier to have him continue to play his Cosmo-Knight then either allow him to escape or have the Forge ressurect him (via the Deific Ressurection ability which I am sure the Forge would have).

DM? Don't you mean GM, sorry personal pet peeve, you can disregard that :P

Anywho, If I was the player I would just bite the bullet and make a new character.

However, if he is integral to the story and the forge did have a use for him maybe it would bring him back. But I think it is important to have him altered in someway, either by becoming perhaps a fallen knight, have his power reduced in some other way or some other character flaw or consequence.

Another neat story hook would be to have the Knight come back to life only for a limit time. The forge allows him a second chance either until his task is complete or simply for a set time such as a year or six months. He would be a fatal hero with nothing to lose and will most likely want to do one last good thing before the end is near.

Cosmo Knight: "How could this be? I am alive?"
Mysterious Figure: "You better get to work, the clock is ticking on your second chance."

Or you could use the "All Dogs Go to Heaven" bit and send him to a place where he is dead, and either have him take or given an Item that gives him life so long as he wears it, but if he loses it he goes to a place worse then death.

But IMO let the guy live.....but make him a squishie :demon: and then play "The Squish or be Squished Game".

Since when are cosmo-knights resistant to magic? It's one of the few things that affect them. So yes, he could be ressurrected. There are several ways to do this, other than just the resurrection spell {you could for instance have a larhold shaman on a hellworld, use healing flame...}.
Other than that... well, dead is dead, parts is parts, dead guys is parts.

I like the Pride killed him, Pride must bring him back thing.

Trials, Tribulations, and a loss of something dear to him, be it a level (Level Down, Dun Dun Dunnnnnn) his weapon, or maybe his future, a la the doomed hero choice.

he has time, but once its up, thats it, so make it count.
