Yeah, I like what you've got so far, but here's an idea:

Perhaps by the time either side gets near the access area of the silo, they activate the site's automated defense system which (da-dun-DAH!!!!), was not only built by cyberworks/A.R.C.H.I.E., it is in fact controlled by A.R.C.H.I.E. III's little brother, Archie II!! Archie II has gone even MORE insane than his big brother, since the pc's/the bad guys were the first one he's seen/known of in even longer than good-ole Arch himself, and so he goes absolutely nuts and starts the count-down to launch the missile!

And it's aimed for Beijing!!! Oh lord-in-heaven-above!! What will the PC's do??? They only have... 15 seconds before the missile begins to launch! Will they try to stop the launch? Will they go to China and roast weenies and marshmellows around the remains of the Yama kings??? Or will they just cast a river of lava in the tube, burying the missile under the molten lava and hopefully closing it's access tube with enough material to basically have an underground detonation which sucks for the environment but really might be the best scenario given what might actually happen in China to all those nice little demon girls and boys...

Or, ya know, something like that might work... :D --GJ.

Cool idea I think it will make a good adventure.

First I would make finding the location an adventure in itself. Maybe the people that found it aren't CS friendly, but the CS found out anyway and now that group are in hiding from CS spies and Mind Melters. So the first adventure would be to find this group before the CS does, then the group promises to tell them the location if they get them to safety - say the New West, Pecos, Lazlo or overseas.

Now the Race would really be on, and I dare say that the CS would send out a crack team of Special Forces including the best trackers and infiltrators they had to find the PCs.

I would have the base itself have it's own automated defences, but maybe it's also infested with Grigleapers or some other supernatural predator. Or maybe now it's the headquarters of a demon or shifter.

Oh yeah ICBM are useless anyway because they will be shot down by the Killer Satellites when they reached low orbit.

Heh, the first time I've ever quoted myself ;) it's just that I'm not sure about this and I was wondering whether anyone would know for sure. I don't have Mutants in Orbit.

1) The ICBM would be shot down

2) The debris ring in the counter rotating orbit is IN low orbit...'nuf said...

3) If targetted "locally," it would not need to reach low orbit, but what's the point, really...

4) This would provide the CS a mega leap in tech advantage simply due to the lost tech it represents (along with the fabrication methods once reverse engineered).

5) At the least, due to the nature of the target of this scavanger hunt, you can be assured the Coalition would send a brigade at least, backed-up by a few thousand Skelbots for Security and (pardon the pun) "Grunt work" once the site was located. Toss in a multi-disciplinary company or so of Coalition researchers, and you're looking at some SCAREY opposition!
