Detoxed Juicer

Is it worth playing a detoxed juicer? Has anyone played their juicer after detox and had a lot of fun doing it? What would be the best OCC to take after detox?

juicers arn't really worth playing to begin with IMHO, so no, mostly for this very reason, that or death.

Has anyone played their juicer after detox and had a lot of fun doing it?

not that I know of

What would be the best OCC to take after detox?

they'll never be a good fighter again, either a magic class or a Borg.

I once played an HU/N&S Ancient Master Thai Kickboxer named Sudden Death. She ended up on Rifts Earth and decided to become a Juicer.
After a few years, she went through Detox and became a partial conversion Borg.
One of my favorite characters.

I also tend to think that it would be good fun to play a detoxed juicer in a low-powered campaign sometime... especially with a juicer wannabe in the party. Unfortunately, I've never gotten the chance to play that.

I've played a detoxed juicer before, I made mine a 'borg and kept his juicer insanity {violent reacxtion to phobia or something like that...}; if they'd had the cyber-psychosis that's in the bionics book now, I'd have taken one of those too.
What I'm curious about is, if you detox a mega-juicer, does he/ she retain MDC? I would assume that, if so, it would be like PE+1D6 per level or something... and minor supernatural PS and PE.
Eyes without life, maggot-ridden corpses, mountains of skulls... these are a few of my favourite things.

they would NOT. it's soley a feedback funtion of the implants. once they are removed the implants stop and become compleatly normal again.

Partial Borg would make sense, going out in a blaze of glory doing last call is tempting too. I'm going to try and detox if I can, I guess it depends on how the next few sessions go.

It says in the rifts book that they can only become: Headhunter/mercenary, Borg, City Punk, and Vagabond. With all the other books out there am I still restricted to these?

I was under the impression that a Mega-Juicer couldn't detox.

ummm it's all implants, true, you'd need a laser scalpel to to make the cuts to remove the implants but it could be done. can't be a juicer withouth the equipment

Also depends on the question of:

A detoxed juicer what?

I mean, with gargoyles and brodkil able to be juicers, they'd still be MDC beings with a lotta power and possible magic ability.

Ultimately, the most interesting (or to use your words, worthwhile) characters are the ones that are the most fun to play. A friend of mine once played a pacifist transferred intelligence robot that was in the shape of a hummingbird (named 'Bweep'). He had great fun and was a boon to the group; he was a prime negotiator and was a fantastic spy.

In an old D&D game I knew a guy that played a 2' 6" halfling assassin with almost no strength to great effect. Nobody took him seriously so he was able to do almost anything and not be a suspect.

I mean, the list goes on and on. My favorite character ever was not even vaguely the most powerful. He was named Hampton Thumbtoes and he wasn't worth squat in any situation but drinking and starting bar fights between my friends and our newfound (due to my efforts) adversaries.
There's a reason...and a very good one...that I have certain people in this forum blocked both here and on Facebook.

I can see an illustration of that nearly every time I come here.

We're basically only using the core rulebook for this one, so a human juicer. I'm thinking possibly going headhunter and get some bionic arms and legs, I'm not sure yet. Thank you to everyone for their suggestions and insights, maybe I'll give my specific situation when it gets closer.
