New West OCC SDC
I was looking at my New West book again and noticed that the Gunfighter OCC doesn't get any bonus to its SDC unless you take physical skills as part of the character's OCC related skills or Secondary skills. Does anyone know if this was a typo or intentional? It would seem to me that if the Gunfighter is supposed to be this imposing person that he would more than likely be strong and be able to take a beating more so than some other possibly weaker classes.

where's the problem? a gunfighter gets 1D4X10 SDC for being a man-at-arms OCC, plus whatever bonuses he may get from physical skills and possibly race... more simple application of the rules, I can hardly think of

Gun fighters get access to the Hand to Hand Commando skill. Why? I have no idea. But regardless, beyond that they don't need any extra bonuses.

I think that one of the main reason I asked about this is due in part to my own Gunfighter. I was looking at his stats as I created him and noticed that his SDC is actually lower than even his hit points and Gunfighters don't get physical skills as part of their OCC skills so they have to take those skills as OCC related skills or secondary skills and even then they do not have a lot of SDC. I guess the Gunfighter just seems to me like the kind of character that would have extra SDC as part of his bonuses at 1st level. Heck even the Gunslinger gets an SDC bonus.

The difference between a gunfighter and a gunslinger is basically that a gunfighter is an operator who really likes guns, while the gunslinger is the classic archetype from western movies.
The gunfighter relies on technology, while the gunslinger relies on himself for everything.
According to the RGMG, both are Men at Arms though, giving a base SDC of 1D4x10, which I think is plenty.
