Just a FYI, you only seem to be looking at the main center unit of the Misfit; the troop carriers and artillery carriers carry something like two companies of infantry each. Still not as much as the Firestorm, but still enough to make a difference I think.

I don't have Mind Works on hand just now, (it's in the other room and I have a dog sleeping on my shoulders that I don't want to disturb --- so cute), but I do recall that the main gun on the NGR super gun unit was pretty slow. The Fire Storm's main gun has a ROF of 4 double blasts per round.

Now that I look at it, shouldn't something as large as the Fire Storm have a much bigger payload of missiles? It seems a bit light there to me. :-?

Maybe a better contest would be to match up one of the NGR's best naval ships against the CSS Chi-Twon. Now that thing has firepower!
