Unfortunately I have all the Rifts books but have never played a Rifts game past a one nighter, because my players by the end of the night are either miscreant or diabolic. Any sugestions? I'm almost crazy enough to even sale all the books.

What I'm saying is this, I have every game that Palladium has produced sience the 1980's. My first book was TMNT. I never had problems with players going into overkill. Instead I had players that thought about adventure and campaigning. They enjoyed the hunt and now, every time that I attempt to get the players to play Rifts all I get is a bunch of mercs running a muck slaughtering whole villages and pillageing. I have sent several NPC's with good intentions only to have thier heads on pikes outside of a burning village as an example of their power.

Sorry, are they doing this in every game played or just Rifts? If its not every game I would suggest starting a game in another setting that they enjoy then perhaps doing some Rifts cross-overs. Then you all can enjoy a night of RPG's and get to use those Rifts books.
Hopefully anyway.

I cant tell you how many times I have attempted to get the gang to play Rifts and failed. I have been stuck in an S.D.C. setting for a long time.

Agreed. Simply TELL them that anarchist is the lowest possible alignment. If they must be evil, MAKE them choose aberant.

When in doubt, do what I've done many times in the past...find a new group. It may be taxing and seemingly useless at first, but eventually your hardwork will pay-off. In the meantime, have fun destroying their characters in humiliating ways. It might make you feel a bit better...

Now that I think about it there is one thing that I failed to allow/disallow. Characters from outside the Rifts world. All the characters were from other worlds. Not one was actually from rifts. There were Nightbane, Superheroes, a mega-uber experienced multi-O.C.C. mage just to name a few.

LOL, yes I think some restrictions would be a good thing here. Though you could still have those classes if you ask them to try to keep their alignments a bit 'higher' on the scale.

GAH!!!!! Geez, man. Limit them to level one characters, with a single character class.
I'm with Z & Z here... the players will try to get away with everything they can. On the other hand, one could easily twist a campaign around where that could easily come back to haunt them.
After all, NOBODY can out-munchkin the GM... NOBODY.

I must admit, I am a notorious hack-n-slasher in my gaming group. There has been more than one occasion where my titan juicer has run wild through the shanty's of chi-town, crushing everything in his path while going ape **** with a rail gun.
This type of play has led to me getting smacked down many times by the GM, sometimes in very creative ways.
One time the GM introduced me to mega-mega damage creatures. They are to MD creatures what MD creatures are to sdc creatures. I had to do 100 mega damage in one attack to do one point of mega-mega damage to the creature. He also made these creatures look cute and cuddly to further embarrase me.
I have learned a lot in my years of roleplaying. I need to get along with the group and go with the flow. As a gift the GM now and then will throw me a small community to terrorize for a while. That may be what you need to do. Allow them the fun of an every now and then slaughter but slap them down hard if they try to do it too much. Nothing says humble like a mega-mega damage bunny!
