Ok I own The main rule book and the GM book aswell as Free Quebec, and so far I am having no luke in determaning how much it cost to replace the boom guns rounds if you could tell me I would be very happy because my character is running out of bullets and needs to by more very soon.
If you can not tell me how much the ammo cost do to the fact that you cannot post information from the book please inform me which book and page that the information is on. Thank you.

The absence of costs for Boom Gun ammunition and even conventional rail gun rounds is a long standing omission in Rifts, and it has yet to be remedied.

If I were to make a guess, I would reckon Boom Gun flechettes to be 2-3 times the cost of uranium rounds, or 10-60 credits each (4,000-24,000 credits for a drum, and 10,000-60,000 credits for a full reload).

don't worry, we've all been wondering about that too.

the fact is, it's never been said. not in all the books is there even a hint at how much they cost to replace.

in fact, they never say how much ANY rail gun's ammo is.

there is also the Bandit 5500 "Cactus Juicer" in Rifts New West that says it runs on an E-Clip. it says that it can only fire 960 rounds (or 180 bursts) before the E-Clip Need recharging.

and that dosn't include the flechette rounds themselves.

only one though.

Wow, that's a lot of shots from a single e-clip. Apparently they're very efficient in rail guns.

Actually, the gun probaly has a long life inbuilt power supply too, because it says that the clip is there only to provide a little extra zip.

Otherwise all rail guns would be e clip powered.

or just that Bill Coffin thinks of these kind of things more than the other authors ;)

A) How many times must I tell you that the guy who did New West was one Chris Kornman?

B) nobody else ever told how long the energy supply needed to power a rail gun will last, but they thought enough of it to mention that the gun either must be plugged in the nuclear power supply of a PA, bot, or vehicle, or have a big (about 80-100 lb) generator to provide the juice.

In those cases, the duration of the charge is moot because the generator has all the juice needed and will las for years.

Then again there are those Russian rail guns that run of G clips and E packs, and drain the hell out of a borg when he links them to his power source, but Kev never says how long a clip or pack will last.

So a normal round would be less right? and DU rounds are supposed to be hard to get and they sell that cheep, so a normal round would be about 1/25 a cr. as a rail gun round, with the exception of a Boom Gun, is just a chunk of metal. After all that you can also figure that you might get a volume discount, so look at a 400 round belt for a C-40R as 100 or less cr.

That's pretty close to my calculations, except I based mine on the costs or producing a bullet out of high-carbon steel, (a common SDC substance that is less harder than DU and hence dose less damage). I more or less figure a single railgun round would cost around 0.10 to 0.25 cr a pop, and the big 200 round canisters for Boom Guns (them just being a bundle in a can), I figure they cost between 25 and 62 credits after factoring a 25% increase for the casing.
