It says plainly in CWC I belive that the amount if radioactive material in the CS's reactors is so small that it has negligable impact.

also, don't forget, in rifts, when it's blown apart, it's not spread. it's VAPORISED. there isn't enough left after combat usually to have noticable effect

I live in Las Vegas....so thanks alot. We got enough problems without becoming the trash can for the nation. Put the **** on a rocket and blast it too the sun if ya don't want it, but don't send it here!! I mean if YOU don't want it hanging around...what the heck makes you think WE do???

Surprisingly enough that is a common misconception. Nevada may have once been the testing site of underground, and above ground nuke testing...but there are natrual spots on earth with high levels of uranium that regesters higher. Either way I'd say everyone can send us thier nuke waste if we can send everyone else our garbage, feces, criminals, undesierables, etc, etc. If you want to send something to Nevada...just send money!!

In a game I ran, I had the players take-out an NGR beastie that they'd never met before. They were lucky and took it out before it had a chance to launch the four MR missiles at them (couldn't lock onto them, and the pirates wanted salvage) They took-out the main body and only the main body (also breeched the crew compartment and turned the contents into paste). Only one character could perform the initial salvage...the team's GB. The breeched reactor core made it too hazardous for anyone else. He had to drag it out into Lake Michigan, and by that time (it was about 100m away from the fight, so easy enough to access) he had it deep enough to minimise the hazard (about 1/2 mile out and 50+ feet deep), he was so "hot" that it took him three days in the lake before he could safely crack the suit!

The fun part was when he rolled a 99 on his demo roll to deactivate the last "hot" missile. It blew his hands off. The truely priceless part occurred a day or so later, when some baddies armed with lasers ambushed the camp while the GB was "cooling" off. He came out after a radioed call for help, and all 10 or so baddies opened up on him with full bursts. He went from just under 700 MDC (remember, he had a MR missile detonate in his face) to just over 100 MDC in one round...FROM (non VF) LASERS!!!

In anycase, I generally use fusion and not fission reactors in my armour...they still produce radiation in large amounts, but don't leave large messes that take forever to clean-up. (ie: mini tomohaks or some such).

For bleeding edge, I use cold fusion.

Cool...I've been FAQed... atleast twice!

Here is the way we handle things:

1. There are large irradiated zoned throughout the world that are still wastelands from where pitched battles were fought and nuclear power supplies were breached.

2. The CS and certain other large powers have nanites that can clean up radiation. These nanites are very expensive, so they don't use them unless an important place is irradiated.

3. Adventures in the Northern Wilderness for Palladium Fantasy has rules for radiation poisoning.

4. There are certain D-B plants and animals that devour radiation. They can (and do) clean up irradiated areas at times.
