Tell your friend that even in the Marvel Universe that Adamantium could be destroyed...took
a lot of effort, but it was possible. Just be glad it wasn't "Vibranium..." (That's the metal that Captain America's shield was made of.
It completely absorbs all kinetic energy and vibratory energy... Cap once used it as a landing pad (standing inside the cruve, thank you...) from a chuteless jump from something like Angels 10+... He stepped out of the shield after "impact," picked it up, and walked away...

You go up against Mr. "I''m the best there is at what I do because what I do I'm the best there is at... because that's what I do ... what were we talking about again?", you're going to get your ass handed to you with a side of A-1 Sauce. Look at it this way, no character that appears in more than one comic book each moth can die. It just can't happen. I don't care if you rolled ten naturla 20's! It can't be done! Be happy you didn't take on Batman. He appears in at least five titles every month!

Yep. I recall some time ago in an issue of Hulk where he smashed a statue of himself, made out of pure adamantium, in an single punch! It can be done, but it takes that level of firepower.

Just a couple questions, purely FMI : what was that fight? player vs player? or player (you) vs NPC?
and what's that stuff with the panther skull giving you feral rage? Is it a house rule or from somewhere I don't remember?
But well, if your opponent was a Wolverine knock off, as good as the original... (and so definitely a GM Job, I just can't figure how you can make one with standard HU or Rifts rules) ... so he took 120 MDC in the soft parts of the upper belly/chest? so what?
a) for all I know he had enough MDC to survive that kind of damage in the first place... so in pure game mechanics, no sweat.
b) the original is known to have survived a slit throat and a fisticuff strong enough to send him into orbit, literally (and yes, while in orbit he survived long enough for a friendly space ship to pick him up, and by the time the other X men were done with D'Ken and the M'Kraan crystal, he was fit as a fiddle)... and that's the 2 I can remember... I saw him killed once : a plasma discharge strong enough to vaporise the flesh from the bones. if the knockoff is as good, he'd probably need at least that much to kill him.

Atramentus wrote:Before the kiddyfying and movie-ising of X-Men, Wolverine had absolutely stupendous healing ability. In the time it takes to fall eight feet off of a bridge Wolvie healed entirely from having Sabretooth rip his throat right out. He was also seen to have walked through acid and come out with barely any tendons on those adamantium bones and heal back to normal in seconds. The guy was like a Rifts Vampire on steroids for healing.
Fun note: The claws were originally bionic implants. .
I agree on the regen evaluation
but you're wrong with the claws. He had them before his skeleton got adamantium lacing, and kept them even after losing said lacing. (at least, that's from summaries I've read... since, in the time I read about him, I never got to know him at a time when he did not have that adamantium in him)
It's not like it's a video game!

Geez, all you people hung up on every little detail that happens in a non-existent world! WHY?! I played rifts because it was fun...but I don't base life long grudges or sad alter egos due to this. I named my character after what I thought was going to be a future kid of mine and I went through baby names and came up with Ladon...so all that know me...now know where i conjured this name up at....however; yes i used it for my rifts name...and yes i liked my character...but if he died i wouldn't care about how my fictional character died in an imaginary game........no offense kevin and all the palladium employees....but jesus it's fun to sit around and play actual visual interactive games....but don't you think it wastes too much time to use your brain to play something you can't even see?? sheesh.....
[b]GET OVER IT!!!!
FICTIONAL CHARACTERS!!!And we all know Wolvie would of won that fight anyway....and you didn't even have to go in close combat with him...it was your fault for not thinking before acting...
Instead of playing imaginary games live in the real world...it really isn't that bad....especially when you try to hang out with your friends...
LOVE,
Ladon

Whoa! Ummm, if you don't like playing imaginary games then why are you even on this board? The fervour of your reply makes it seem that you care far more than anyone else here.
I think it's a bit excessive to suggest that everyone on this board should live in the real world, just a little bit of a generalisation wouldn't you say?
You get over it.
Oh and orange is a very hard colour to read on white.
Ummm it is a personal issue

First off...i like orange....so whatever i dont kare....and for two....i don't play rifts anymore....i have posted on this message board a total of twice including this post and the only reason i even remotely come close to caring is because the original poster...The necromancer or w.e...is in my group of friends....so before you try and snap back at a comment you didnt take the time to let soak in....remember that i could careless about you and what you say....im not whining nor sobbing....and there ya go....

All right, I've had enough of this. This is dave,, the so-called munchkin nad creator of the Rifts wolverine. I am only responding to this on the web-bords (I say this because it infuriates me that both "Atlas" and "X" or whatever would attempt to belittle me online" because they have both left out considerable peices of information. Alright then, first off Wolverine (the version i used) was created as an NPC for a game i ran for well over a year....an NPC that was developed extreemly well in several ways. Also by the end of the game he was an 15th level BountyHunter Assasin. The only reason I choose to play him in this "player vs. player battle royal" was because I really didn't want to play in the first place and I was going to use this as a form of protest. The game itself became a chest-thumping , testoserone indused war of ego's, as I suspected. But as for the call of who should have won the fight, i bring up these points.
A) Logan had over 250+ MDC
B) The GM was not useing any plusses period (attack, dodge nothing) therefore eleminating any advantage by the more combat orented class
C) His healing factor was based off of the MDC conversion from both heroes unlimited and skrapers.
D) As for being a munchkin, I am trully pissed, Atlas plays the same charicter over and over agan in a differnt body. X, has realy developed only one character period. To me Wolverine was designed for story-line and my personal love for the character with my own twist.
E) Also on the munchie thing, the necromancer was playied out in the most overpowered campaign i have ever seen....( there was an Apok, Ice Dragon thing, A Nightspawn Battle Magius....ect.ect.) ran by Atlas....so he has no right even if it was "Munchie"
F) What it comes down to is that I used a charater in my game as the bail out device in order to keep the pc's alve and on the right track and made the npc fun for me to run. Unfortunatly, Atlas in paticular desided to fight almost every desision i came up with for the Logan charater, justified or not. He loves to argue to the point where I got sick of it and fell back onto the " I'm GM so what I say ....Goes period" it pissed him off and ....well he pulls this and whinnes every chance he gets....
To sum this all up.....I am extreemly anoied by all this and am greatly offened by my friends that they would drag this into public (sort-of) to attempt to attack me over a bloody game, prolly thinking I don't come on here. Its cowardly and disrespectful to our friendship....I wouldn't do it to you so don't do it to me......Also next time I run i won't bail you out in any way...period. aiur's leg and the gun incident will not be as favorable as it was last time. If I run a game for either of you again......

Xerxes ... I'm sort of a Wolverine fan...
and I've always been miffed at HU because, even by gang raping the rules, it doesn't provide anything that I'd regard as a satisfactory toolbox for creating Logan equivalents. (that may have changed with PU 1&2, but I don't know that for a fact, and I currently have no budget for that).
So I'm interested in knowing just how you proceeded in creating your clone, and just what you put in him. would you mind publishing the stats and the way you created him? or, if you don't want to make him public, sending me the info by PM or email?

Two things I feel i must clear up here (while i'm on zaks comp), one there were two different gms with all of this......I Dave, or Xerxes am the one whom created Wolverine using several powers from scrapers and HU, and blending them in order to ( In my eyes, i guess) properly give Wolverine the rifts compatable Healing Factor (and other powers) while still keeping to the same level as the character's equivlint in comics. (and yes, it was based off of old school, pre-movie wolvie....and ultimate Wolverine) the game that set this all off though, was under the jurisdiction of another GM, and while I have emmince records and stats on my character\npc it doesn't help with the way the "game" was ran in the first place. Now in all fairness I am very looses with the ruls of any game, but this butchered any understanding and comperhintion. I know why it was done...but it doesn't justify it and the headaches it's caused. The reason while I responed so severly in my defence is a combo of things......I do not belive Wolverine was in any way "overpowered" no more so than many r.c.c. classes, or high leveled wizards. its that he was created to be the ultimate physical combatant, he was un able to use or be helped by psycics and used guns and magic very rarely, it was against his characteration. Unfortunatly, Atlas has any idea in his head, right or wrong...it takes an act of god to get him to reconsider and this just boiled my frustration over on this already annoyingly long argument. Also it was done rather publicly, witch me as a private pearson, do not like. I agree that I got frustrated with the game around the time of the Logan\necromancer fight, but really it had little to do with the fight itself, more so that I was terrably upset with the game in general. So thats all for now I guess........
