Well, if they are mining a Planet the Size of Jupiter that was not a gass Giant, Gravity would be so intense that 10M tall zentradi would get Chrushed by there own weight. Unless the Rotation of the planet was fast enough to counter thew gravity.... honstly in the serise they refer to the Zents being created as a Policeing force for the Masters Empire.

Can any one point out on the Periodic Table where the "Mono-pole" ore is? Sound slike some Crappy Crap Macek made up because he's and overratter idiot, who get way to much credit for the serise, when the staff writers did most of the real genuis work. but thats off the point. Once you start inventing Elements... then you might as well call it Fantasy instead of a Sci-fi anime. and have hollow planets and Dragons who hurl Poo as their main attack against people.

i'm not tryin to Flame here, but the Stuff fomr the novels and the Sentinels were completely Goofy, Civil war between the ASC and REF. the Hunters & the rest of the Main crew who "Gain" the powers of the Garudans, and become "Psychic warriors". Best thing to do is Forget the Sentinles, because it makes more plot holes then it add to the plot for the serise.

Monopoles HAVE appeared in sci-fi before....Roger McBride Allen(or so I believe) makes mention of them in several of his books, including a solar system economy on finding naturally-occuring monopoles for use as the heart of advanced fusion drive systems..
The idea of such quantum particles/materials on the order of neutronium existing in such a form as a mineable ore is probably pure fantasy....unless the ore is some sort of exotic-matter precursor 'froth' that is refined, zapped, and concentrated to form stable, inductrially-usable monopoles...or maybe, if one goes with the 'floating island' idea, the solid portion of Fantoma is really a old stellar core(or fragment there of) that's full of the little things)

Don't ask me about the science of monopoles...from what little I've gleaned, they're so exotic as to sound like fantasy(but then again, most high energy pshyics and cosmology is really high-minded fantasy), so everyone's right...

And the Turning of a Page"

its SCI-FI.
thats SCIence FIction.
key word, fiction.
fiction involving scientific settings.
fiction in non-scientific settings is typically fantasy.
the invention of new things is a typical element of fiction. if not materials, then people and situations.

robotech is science fiction, as it is not science FACT. so the writers can invent new materials and concepts should they desire to.

if something is purely Fact, than its not fiction, it's history.

this may be thread jacking... but if you accept that one of the reasons the Zentraedi were created was to mine monopole ore from Fantoma...
(I don't, and it's been mentioned that giants are just plain the wrong morphology to mine a hi grav planet)...

Just WHAT is monopole ore supposed to be? and what's it used for?

Thanks Alex. If you'd mentioned it earlier, I certainly had not caught on.

This is much clearer
