First of all I thought that the Cyber Knights and Mind Melters were the only ones who could create a Psi-Sword. Now I'm seeing these other classes like the Psi Slingers and Nexus Knights who share the ability In this case I think I can answer my own question. That little bit was written and published before the creation of the new classes.
Next question; how does it work? The class description only says that they have the Psi-Sword ability. Well, is it like the Cyber Knights or Mind Melters sword? Is it an instant sword or does it take 15 seconds (one melee) of concentration to summon? And since it's a class ability, does the character get it at first level or third?
Finally in the "Coalition Wars Cyber-Knights" it describes several bonuses that apply if the Cyber-Knight is a natural master psionic, including +1D6 M.D. with Psi-Sword at 2nd level. However according to the Rifts main book (page 12) the only way be a master psionic is to select a psychic R.C.C.. Is that just something you give to the player? As the GM, I would prefer to role for something like that, gives a better feeling of fairness.
Okay, I think that's all of them.
Somebody help me. Puppy eyes, no smiley for that one.

Then what's the use of the Mind Melter?
If other classes can do his job better, then why do you need them?

Now if you rolled on the chart at the front of the main Rifts book, there is a possibility of rolling Master psionic when first rolling the character up. I assume that is what the Cyber Knights Book is talking about. Rolling a master psycic, and THEN choosing a cyber knight OCC.
Hope this helps.

But... All that's going to do is get them smulched.
