First of all I thought that the Cyber Knights and Mind Melters were the only ones who could create a Psi-Sword. Now I'm seeing these other classes like the Psi Slingers and Nexus Knights who share the ability :| In this case I think I can answer my own question. That little bit was written and published before the creation of the new classes.

Correct.
Next question; how does it work? The class description only says that they have the Psi-Sword ability. Well, is it like the Cyber Knights or Mind Melters sword? Is it an instant sword or does it take 15 seconds (one melee) of concentration to summon? And since it's a class ability, does the character get it at first level or third?

I have always ran it that only the Cyber-Knights get a psi-sword at first level. All others must wait till 3rd, and it's as stated in the psycic section of the books. (Takes 15 seconds....)
Finally in the "Coalition Wars Cyber-Knights" it describes several bonuses that apply if the Cyber-Knight is a natural master psionic, including +1D6 M.D. with Psi-Sword at 2nd level. However according to the Rifts main book (page 12) the only way be a master psionic is to select a psychic R.C.C.. :frust: Is that just something you give to the player? As the GM, I would prefer to role for something like that, gives a better feeling of fairness.

I believe that after a cyber knight gets fully trained they gain all the powers of a cyber knight. Psycicly that is. And they are considered a master psycic. Now if you rolled on the chart at the front of the main Rifts book, there is a possibility of rolling Master psionic when first rolling the character up. I assume that is what the Cyber Knights Book is talking about. Rolling a master psycic, and THEN choosing a cyber knight OCC.
Okay, I think that's all of them.
Somebody help me. Puppy eyes, no smiley for that one.

Hope this helps.

Then what's the use of the Mind Melter?

If other classes can do his job better, then why do you need them?

they can't. no other class has teh sheer NUMBER of powers.

the mind melters job is varity, not the Psi Sword.

Actually the only things you can roll are

-No Psionics
-Minor Psionic
-Major Psionic

Master psionic is reserved for the Psychic R.C.Cs

actually, the Palladium Fanatasy2nd edtion Mind Mages have them beat.

at first level they have the number of powers from the same catagories as the Mind melter.

every level, 3 super psionics AND 2 normal psionics from any of the three catagoies for every level after one.
