I think it is an ok idea, but the target can still move left or right, up or down, so they are still bale to dodge the attack. I think that a suitable replacement would be a hand ith a forarm missile weapon and a finger gun. The finger gun could fire a small homing beacon to which the missile could track and *boom* bye bye target.

I personally think that it pushing the limits of what is feasible in the game.. Just my opinion though

Used in the way you're proposing I think it's pushing it, and has problems as already mentioned.

However, just using the grappling hook as a weapon is a pretty cool idea. Tired of that grunt hiding behind a wall, popping out to take pot-shots out you? Wait till he exposes himself, fire off your hook, and yell "Get over here."

I like the idea of a grappling hand but simply as a advanced grappling hook. A borg could use it to pull itself up walls etc. or even shoot the hand out and grab something like a weapon and pull it back to itself or to entangle from a distance.
Maybe the hand itself could zap enemies like a neural mace or fry electrical systems and do damage to anything vulnerable to electrical attacks.
