While the Dragonrod rune item is shaped similar to a pistol, it is not a pistol. Nor should the Gunslinger get all the bonuses from his quickdraw skills, which are based off of using a pistol, when trying to quickdraw the Dragonrod. Though I'd let him attempt it, I'd only allow half his bonuses due the the strangness of the item.
Just my opinion.
Just my opinion.

No it can't be quick drawn anymore than you can quick draw a rifle. a Dragon Rod is a massive weapon. at least the size of a folding shotgun and likly a lot heavier.

Gingrich is wrong.

I would say yes. The picture doesn't look much bigger than a NG-57 in the main book.
However
I can't imagine letting one of the proper alignment fall into the hands of a player. Rune weapons are suppose to be extremely rare and all that.
If I did allow it it would be to a very good role player who would not be all overbearing with it or disruptive.

Nope, even ordinary T Men become MDC, but Maxi Men and Vamp Slayers get more tats and more skills

Perhaps Zerebus was talking about an NPC with a dragon rod.
Even so, if the player becomes "disruptive" with it, it's easy enough to have the Splugorth hunt him to the ends of the megaverse, among other things. Let's see him whip it out when that attractive tattooed hooker he met is a Sunaj...
I'm sure the MDC would give her away.
only if they try to hurt her. or give her a blood test. it's hard to take a blood sample when the needles keep breaking.

The more I think of it, the less I understand.
Would you please tell where you see an operative difference and how it applies to quickdrawing a rune shooter?

Sir Darom wrote:Of course, if the Sunaj was smart, she'd disguise herself as some other race, such as a star elf or something. Besides, how many actual characters know about the Sunaj in order to fear them?
The thing is that, without the Sunaj armor, nobody would even suspect one thing. The big thing with the Sunaj is that nobody suspects there are a clan of Atlantean T Men in league with the sploogs. .Of course, an Atlantean hooker with a lot of tats is fishy... and it's damn hard to effficiently disguise when you cannot be magically transformed.

Because gunFIGHTERS get their bonuses with rifles, gunSLINGERS do not.
