there aren't any so you can do the following:

It is free!

The are what ever price you want them to be.

you can not care about it and assume that players get it when they need it during down time.

I use some where in the 4 to 6 credits a bullet.

Glitter boy rounds are 50 credits each because of their unique constuction.

Given that they're made out of cheap, easily mass-produsable, carbon SDC steel, figure they cost around 0.10 to 0.25 credits a round.

LOL

Vibro-blades were the same way for a long time.

Player: "How much for a vibro-knife?"
Me: "Uh, the shopkeeper is running a special. Since you recharged your E-clips and bought those grenades, you get a free vibro-knife with purchase..."

I usually charge 10-100c per round, depending on the gun, who your buying it from, and where your at.

Since Bandito Arms represents the Black Market, I'd say this is a good basis for a Black Market cost.

From companies like NG, I'd charge less since it's a legit source. Maybe only 10-40 Cr each round depending on location.

Doesn't count. The Bandito rail guns fire highly specialized ammo atypical of the norm. The Big Bore 5000 fires MD Explosive rounds (80 Cr. per round), the Flechette 5500 fires a minaturized form of shot of the BG's Boom Gun (also 80 Cr. per shot), and the Bandit 6000 is actuially a Grenade Launcher (500 Cr. per shot). These are a far cry from the normal bullets that fly out of the standard high-cyclic rail guns of Northern Gun, Triax, the Coalition, and most others.

I consider the BigBore rounds akin to SDC explosive rounds. Since explosive rounds cost 5-10 times more than conventional rounds, I figure that conventional railgun rounds are about 5-10 times cheaper than the BigBore rounds, hence my range of 10-40 credits each (depending on location/availability).

With the lack of any other cost quote to go on, I used an unconventional type of round as a base.

There is a better round to compair for deriving the price of normal rail gun slugs. Check out the RGMG under the Triax weapons section (can't provide a page number, my book's on loan to a friend). It has a listing for the price of U-rounds and DU-rounds, which are far lower that the Bandito's specialized explosive and flechette rounds. Uranium is a pretty rare element to be making bullets out of, so you can figure SDC carbon steel bullets would be easily a tenth their cost or even less.

If it works for you and yours, thats great. :ok: Just pray that one of your players don't sit down one day and figure out the math for the cost of energy weapons per 1 MD done compaired to what you're rooking them for rail gun ammo. :)

I'd imagine that railgun rounds are probably about the same price as say, ammunition for SDC assault rifles. Sure, a typical railgun round is a solid slug that's all made from the one material so it'll be simpler to make, but I think we can safely assume that railgun ammunition has to be built to far more precise specifications than ammo for conventional firearms, since the ludicrous speed they're being fired at means that enough minor imperfections in enough rounds could wear out the rails relatively quickly.

Railgun Rounds

I had this same conversation with Rodney Scott a couple of years ago. Considering the black market cost of DU rounds are 1-2 credits apiece (per World Book 5: NGR and Triax), I charge 1 credit for 10 to 100 depending on availablilty. Railgun rounds are just shaped metal projectiles so they shouldn't cost alot. Of course, I've still not got a price on Boom Gun ammo.

Maybe not the correct place for this but here goes.

When buying railgun rounds, no matter what price, is it one size fits all ?

Noooooooooooooooooooooo, each railgun has its own ammo. A round for a At-600 railgun(Japan) will not fit into a Tx-250(Triax). Deferent makers, deferent stiles.
