Well, we do know (at least with a good amount of certainty) that a super Nexus is supposed to be at the Great Pyramids of Gizeh. Perhaps something similar (but of a lesser magnitude) is located at Great Zimbabwe or other location on the continent.
I too am waiting for that damned book, which seems like it will never come.

Keep in mind that Africa is like 3x as big as the US. Those maps are tiny! There is no way they could put ley lines on maps that small. In fact, the maps are so small as to be almost useless so why they included them is anyone's guess. Maybe just for an overview of the continent. Maps of that scale in the main book on 158 and 159 do not show ley lines either, so I do not think it has anything to do with it being Africa per se.
The good thing about setting your campaign in the US is that a $4 road atlas can get you pretty decent map resolution for playing. Yah I know that it has changed some with the Rifts, but when Palladium comes out with good, detailed maps for $4, I will switch from Rand McNally to them.

Not according to Palladium books or the guy who was writing the book.

There are no ley line maps of North America either which is the most common location for playing, and the place with the most info written about it.
I would like to see a map of major ley lines across the globe like that painting of Rifts Earth from space in the main book.

The word "THAN" is important. Something is "better than" something else, not "better then", it's "rather than" not "rather then".
Ley Lines in Africa
Yes, unfortunately there is very limited information on Africa. I was incredibly hopeful when I saw a second Africa book on their list of future books, but they cancelled it (which royally ticked me off; hopefully they'll decide to pick it back up in the future).
With help from a college instructor of mine, I have recently sent some stuff in for the Rifter regarding Africa, but I haven't had any word back about it yet. It didn't include any maps, but that's something that I may work on in the future, primarily for my group of course.
