xiticix killer

i just got my hands on lone star, but under the description of the xiticix killer it does not explain what the cross-shaped thing on its chest is, as well as what the thing above it going over the right shoulder is.

am i missing something, or has it been described elsewhere

if there is no description for it, are there any plausible hypotheses?

I don't have that book any more, so I'll just put forth my best silly guess...

They're crosses.
Lonestar is right next door to vampire territory.
They've started putting crosses on everything.

I always thought it's the storage container for the mini-nuke battery which powers the weopons on the "non-naturalborn" hunters. But, that's just me.

Its the opening for the kegerator. The thing over the right shoulder is an elaborate tap for the beer. The flaps are where the pony keg goes.
