the camaflage system is shot if it takes damage, just like the cloth. that's likely what he's saying.
basically, there is a cloth that's made out of the same material. it has 10 MDC, but if it take any damage it stops camafloging.
while that rule was never applied to the armor, I think he's using that as his basis.
personally, I wouldn't use it.

Now I know how you got your post tally so high. Why bother answering when your answer doesn't provide any clarity? Anyone could shoot off a yes or no, but realistically people need more information than you usually provide (without someone specifically asked question).
Of course, the last time I asked you about this you didn't answer, so I don't suppose you'll do so now.
Do you feel that this is right/fair/realistic?
How about no I don't feel that this is right/fair/realistic?
I don’t see any why do you think so questions.
If he would like me to explain he can ask.
I didn't realize I needed longer answers to please you.
Not that I care.

All MDC weapons, armors, toys and gizmos should work prefectly well so long as their MDC has not slipped past zero or into the negatives. If your GM wants to be a jerk about it, he can house rule it so damaged things have a percentage of malfunctioning equal to the percentage of the damage taken (e.g. with 12 MDC out from 80, there is a 15% chance of a malfunction occuring when activated or at a critical moment). That would be a more fair compromise between the all or nothing thing he seems to be doning now. But by the book, all things work so longs as they have postitive MDC/SDC to their name.

RPGMAN wrote:As for the original posters Q, I agree, your GM is probably pulling their rational from the cloth. There are also rules that if armour gets to below 15% of it's total it cannot be repaired. That would be exactly where yours is at the moment, so to me that would also indicate that your camo system is defunct. Heck, I would probably have ruled it as not working properly after 25%-40% - I mean, if it's all shot up, how well is it really going to work, hey?
I think you made a bit of a mistake he said his armor
has taken 12 md out of 80
leaving 68 MDC, not it has 12 MDC left out of 80.
Actually though, I think whatever the GM says is right/fair/realistic, in game context.

I once pulled into a parking lot that had those low, concrete dividers in it. My car sat low to the ground, and I stopped too far forward. The concrete thing banged the bottom of my radiator, and a bright green liquid began to pool around the car.
The car itself was minimally damaged, but it sure wouldn't run until I patched the leak and put new Prestone in.
If your Gm is using the "a critical part of the armour has failed, and we must go on an adventure in order to find parts to fix it", then good for him! You shouldn't have extra-dimensional holographic armour to start with unless you can afford to have it fixed by a licenced Naruni dealer. Just as if you bought a $13,000 plasma screen TV, or a Delorean DMC-12.
Have fun getting to Phase World before the warranty wears out.

Lol...
Is there such a thing as post envy?
In all fairness, he did answer the question. Being verbose simply because you can doesn't help anyone. And the original poster did not ask for arguments that he could take to his GM, he simply asked if people agreed with his GM or not.
