Necromancer and an Eye of Eylor

I think you all can see where I'm going with this, but I'll ask the qustion anyway. To set up the scenario, let me start with a little bit of a tale. Our player group was on its way to El Paso when we encountered a group of Splugorth slavers a little farther away from the coast than usual. We quickly dispatched the altareans and the slaver, and my Lord Magus confiscated the staff of eylor because it was a dangerous and evil weapon. A Necromancer in our arty wanted it to use, and then he had the GREAT idea of cooking the eye and breathing in the smoke. We all said that would be a bad idea and voted to destroy it. Well, one character destroyed it with a plasma cannon, which in turn caused the eye to burn, and the necromancer breathed the smoke after an incantation.
Question: What would the bonuses or penalties be for the Necromancer after consuming the Eye?
Our GM gave him the spell abilities, but made his character have a disgust for humanoid life, and gave a supernatural link to a splugorth or minion who can see through the characters eyes and take possesion of him anytime the minion wants. How would you have played it?

You do not get powers from grafting pieces or consuming pieces of still living creatures.
Now if he came across a zembahk or a faerie weapon, it would be a different story.

All your Necro would receive from inhaling the smoke would be the potentally fatal condition of smoke inhilation. (Depending on how much of a snoot full, and for how long.)
If the staff burned for a minute or two, unconsciousness (only) would result, although some of the chemicals released by the burning might have some "odd" effects on him (ie: breaking out in a rash evertime he encounters bio-wizardry, etc).
As Doom pointed out, the Eyelor is a small piece of the greater planet-being Eyelor. Therefore, you would have to kill IT to gain any bonuses.
As for the Faerie weapons or the lombotomised Z's, or ANY other Bio-Wizardry component...the organic component is alive, so the necro would have to deliberately kill the organic component, and even then, the gained abilities would likely be small / relatively inconsequential (depending on the component). For example, the lombotomised Z. would problably give you some extra ISP, and a mobile eye on a tentacle you could look through. Take the wings from a pixie, and you can do a reasonable imitation of a mosquito... etc...

But Dr. Dooms point is that the Eyes of Eylor are pieces of Eylor...not individual creatures but pieces of a greater whole.

still living creature... trouble is that the necro doesn't just deal in *body parts* but in *
DEAD* body parts... a thing that is not dead has no use for the necromancer, and eylor eyes, like other bio weapon componenets are still living, and would have to be killed forst.... or better, Eylor would have to be killed first, as the status of parts severed from still living creatures is a bit unclear.

Yes, they did have a good back story. Here's a novel concept...Good characters and evil characters working together! OMG!!! Heresy I say, heresy! Maybe they were childhood friends, who still are respecting of each other even though they took different paths in life? Maybe the Necromancer isn't hardcore Diabolic, and the Lord Magus isn't hardcore principled. Maybe they are both need beer money because a mutal friend is having a kareoke party at a bar in El Paso so they took a job as mercs.
Unfortunatly, I did miss the part in the book where it does say for the spell "Vanquished enemie" (amaizing how one word can change a whole senario). But this is still workable cause it does open up a world of possibilites for us for future campaigns in Atlantis like the groups been asking.

I wan't in favor of that ruling when you made it, DarkBrandon. And after giving it some thought, i like it even less.
As the current GM, the fact that Funutri (sp?) is possessed by a Splugorth entity adds an aspect to the game that i really don't feel like dealing with.
Mr. Chicago knows the necromancer is possessed. He can sense it. You have no idea how hard it was not to have him kill Funutri as soon as he walked into the room. And then to still give him the job in Chi-Town? To risk everything because of an insane possessed necromancer? Man i was really stretching it there.
Hey but that's cool though. It's a challenge for me. Mr. C had a reason for sending Funutri on the mission. I just have to figure out how it fits into his plans. After all, I am the best GM ever.
but that's my complaint. I dont care how realistic it is or if Eylor is alive or whatever. But i sort of screws up my story to have effectively an alien intelligence running through Chi-Town.
