If you're referring to the Phase World version of rats, I had a Shifter who had one as a familiar... cute little thing lol.

I believe he is reffering to the article in one of the Rifters with different creatures that can be used as familiars.
I believe one is called a Spluge Baby.

I think he is talking about the small one-eyed things from the Phase World main book. There is one normal one and one tougher one.

Yeah, I've used these creatures. Make good "common" vermin for unkept space-craft. I've had one player "attempt" to gain one as an ally...didn't work out so well.
