Gunfighter occ fast draw question.

Unread post by (SHIFTY) »

A fellow player in my group and I were wondering. His character is a Gunfighter with a PP of 22, giving him a plus 3 to initiative. It says to halve this bonus when using knives and and staves that fire bolts and shotguns and the like. He and I both suck at math and were wondering if we halve his score of three would we make his initiative score 2 or 1 (As you know half of 3 is 1.5).

As far as I know, the rules of math always round up from a .5 on...

Hmph. Good Question. Normally it will specify to round up or down. GM's call really, although I agree with Mike's reasoning.

Every other instance I can recall in Palladium (most recently in my reviewing of charcter creation as to the major psi mods...) round down.

You could just add 1.5, if someones initiative is 13.5 they would attack before an initiative of 13 but after an initiative of 14.
It's not a big deal but it's still probably easier to round one way or another.
The word "THAN" is important. Something is "better than" something else, not "better then", it's "rather than" not "rather then".

Makes sense to me. When in doubt, go with the math. :D

Excellent Solution.
