CS special forces OCC
Has anyone played a CS special forces character? Tell me how it was?
What were the advantages of playing this OCC?
Also, Do you prefer playing Characters that do not have any special powers? I am trying it out and It seems to be a lot of fun.

Well I GM'd a group of four since CWC came out to this year, based in Lone Star completely. There was no end of missions for them.
They are highly capable in many areas of course, more when played by veteran role-players as my group is.
Now, my CS Special Forces OCC (all my CS OCC's are) is modified, which can be seen over at Nexus 9 in the Military Outpost forum. Actually details of the unit can be found there as well.
Currently I'm in a PBeM game as a Commando/TAG (From Rifter #23 by John Stevens) and having a blast doing that as well.

I played and loved them, they have all kinds of opportunites for adventure and are highly skilled.
Dustin Fireblade: I stoped by Nexus nine to look at your stuff that you mentioned. I plan to register later today to comment there, but for a quick synoposis: while good, I think I disagree with how skilled they are. the CS is NOT the US, and their soldigers are not, nor do I think should be that skilled.
while good, making them much more dangerious, the CS does not bother training them that well. as their plans to sacrafise so many Burbians in the Tolkeen conflict, for game purposes, they're SUPPOSED to be cannon fodder. is it logical? no, but that's how they operate. you can't change the CS grunt like that without changing the entire nation of the CS, top to bottom. still, I love it, I think i'll give your advanced infantry training to NGR and NJP soldgiers.
good thinking, but the CS isn't good like that.
also, for those that don't get i'm talking about, I highly reccomend you stop by Nexus Nine, looks good from what I saw of it

We did use the special forces OCC, but also the characters were from Psi-Bat so they also had psionics and one was a Psi-Slayer... They eventually went rogue and ended up in Colorado. Oh what a path of destruction they reeked.

Two other questions about Special Forces.
1.I see in alot of books that in a alot of CS Special ops teams there are other OCCs that work with CS Special Forces such as the CS ranger OCC and CS Commando OCC. I thought the CS Special Forces only work with other CS Special Forces?
2. What Does the Military Specialest do in the CS?
3.Is the CS Special Forces OCC the best of the best fighting troops in the CS Army?

The military specialist is basically an espionage agent, combat military intel, or just really bad people. It would normally be this guy who will torture his enemy, rather that the special forces. Also, he probably leads a special forces team.

I played a CS Special Forces in a campaign a while back and I loved it. Before I played the dang thing I watched "Tears of the Sun" to get me pumped and to give me inspiration and then I just went at it in game.
Although I had a Striker SAMAS, I preferred not to use it, instead I would usually try to get unsuspecting targets with garrote wire or a knife through gaps in their armor, which was made even better as I was rolling good with the character.
A memorable ambush that me and the CS group worked out goes as follows:
We were tracking down a group of Tolkeenites in Wisconsin, just outside of the magic zone that is there. We set up the ambush on a ruined highway that had long been obscured by foliage. Hiding in a tree I quickly reached down and got one of the targets with my precious garrote wire as they passed and proceeded to swing the poor shlub into the other target that needed to be captured. I retracted the garrote and swung into the tree, dropping a flash grenade at the same time. The two targets fell leaving their traveling companions out in the open. My comrades, hiding off in the woods on either side of the road misted the companion with a volley of laser and plasma. We then moved in and arrested the two targets.
It was gravy.
And as for paying characters without powers, I prefer it. Its just more challenging that way. THe favorite character that I ever played was a Cactus Person.

Note to you kids out there: never try a linear ambush with your shooters on both sides of the road. This is how you get Blue-on-Blue casualties as you shoot each other with the crossfire. Nor leaving one of your own hanging out in the middle of the killzone, up in a tree or not.
They were on either side, but not directly across from one another. We thought of all the factors you mentioned, I was high enough up not to get hit and crossfire was impossible unless someone rolled horrible.
I'd draw a sketch but don't have a scanner.
EDIT: Here is a (very) crappy rendition I did in Photoshop quick: http://groups.msn.com/theriftsrpg/shoebox.msnw?action=ShowPhoto&PhotoID=57
The Blue Lines are the lines of sight of the two ambush parties, the red dots are the targets' traveling compainions and I was in the tree near them. The Ambush parties were either kneeling or laying down and we were using radio to communicate and coordinate our actions. I was in little danger og getting hit.

So you were trying a marionnette ambush...?
Eyes without life, maggot-ridden corpses, mountains of skulls... these are a few of my favourite things.

Technology
One of technologies advantages is distance. You should not let the enemy get close. When your weapons are better than those of your enemies, and they shoot further..shoot them from far away.
The CS also normally outnumbers and outguns their enemies...which may not be a lot of fun from a RPG perspective, but outnumbering your opponents 5+:1 and having better equipment and weapons is going to keep all the CS guys alive, and keep all their enemies dead.
