Which would you rather play?

Which would you rather play?

Unread post by Fat_Ninja »

So I'm already working on next year's convention games (not getting caught like last summer), and I'm curious what the majority of people posting would prefer to play.

I went with Invid Invasion last time to open things up to just about any mecha/OCC combination, then made it a low powered game with only one (or two?) Cyclones available.

So I guess this is a two part survey-

What RT era would you rather play in?

What kind of power levels would you prefer to play?

Remember that I'm talking about a 4-hour, one-shot game at a convention and probably playing with people you've never met before in your life. And I am including Macross II, just 'cuz I dig it.

Since I won't be conventional take mine witha grain of salt too . . .

Macross era Robotech usually does the thing for me. Just make sure it's for an all destroid or all veritech capable group.

I perfer to play in the malcontent uprisings time period. No previoius plot line to total distroy with what happens in the game. And while most of the mecha are the old style, there can be a scatering of new mecha from southern cross and the Sentanls.

I like the Invid Invasion myself. for a good gaming ideas use Return of the Masters Or the APC for Macross and Ghost Ship has the proto type Mecha for the southerncross.

I like mid level Games myself, but if you are only doing a one shot game then the players would proable be excited to have an action packed hard hitting game where they can brag to thier friends later.

But i have yet to make a convention so my opion like those before me only goes so far. I thought they discontunied the RPG. Are they still supporting it at convetions?

I won't be going to any conventions in the next year either, but given the choice, I would go with Macross or Macross II.

I thought I'd bump this back up to the top with a little update....

Looks like I'm already going to start working on what games and adventures I'm going to run for Origins. Unlike last year, I'd like to be a little more prepared....lol.

It's sad when you show up to run 4 games and forget all the characters, notes, and even a book at home.
