I agree with you.
When I first read the book, I assumed that any base that was attacked/destroyed, remained a secret from the general populace as part of a Gov't cover-up, but still, you can only have so many of those. Across the entire world, thousands aren't really so many, and if backed by cupporption and agents of the nightlords in high places, then some things would be possible.
I guess it comes down to how you want to interpret for your campaign.

I agree with both of you. (i think!) Anyway, i think the main kind of military bases they would even care about destroying are ones that would have a chance of discovering/combating them. In other words secret bases with either advanced technology or supernatural research (or both...Psi Mechanics?)

Just an idea.

I think the Hounds were deployed on earth en masse only during dark day, to strike at key targets that were 1) Isolated and 2) dangerous to the Nightlords.

Of course each Nightlord controls his hounds differently (ie Magog aparently uses them to clear out the housing projects in Chicago and Lilith puts them on TV . . .). Still the use of Hounds on Earth is limited for a number of reasons.

1) The invasion has to be secret to work

2) If you pull your Hounds out of the Nightlands and nobody else does, you could end up another Nightlord's private fun toy.

Monsters? What monsters? Those military bases were attacked by terrorists. Their bizarre costumes and penchant for close range weapons are obviously designed to shock and terrify the populace.

Not to trivialize things, but imagine what 9/11 must have been like on Nightspawn Earth.

Also imagine what the War on Terror and the War in Iraq would look like (remember the concept of Mini-Vietnams?).

You're a Nega-Psychic in real life, aren't you? 8)

Well, since I've never had players end up on military bases or be miliitary it never really came up. I use Hounds in packs of about 10-15 to put the fear into a group.
