Heh, a fellow survivour of growing up in the 70's & 80's .
:ok:
Much as I am a child of the Sentai school, I do have to say that 'Armored Core' is the easiest for me to play with...though trying to get screen shots of my AC for illustrational purposes is a pain & a half :frust:

Please note; I do not condone the use of copyrighted material for use in any for-proffit project, unless prior contracts have been aproved by the orginal creator :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P
There; legal schtuff delt with

I want mix 'n' match customizable chassis similar to another famous Giant War Mecha RPG.

LOL! Never satisfied are you?
Which famous mecha RPG? You can say it sir; c'mon...I prolly broke about half a dozen copyrights here just NAMING the options I already have posted (stupid yanks and their lawyers), so one more won't do any more damage :P
Tellmetellmetellme! I'm curious now...

P.S. I know people will probably mention the fact I DIDN'T mention Evangellion.
The reason for that is the Eva's are WAY powerful, and technicaly NOT mecha. They are living-god cyborgs (at least that is what all the un-official pundits keep calling 'em).

Thought so...wasn't sure.
I kinda had Battletech as a given; therefor NOT part of the poll :D
EVERYBODY loves old-school battletech!
:ok:
Though the whole "heat" thing kinda got old real fast, espcialy in a mass fire fight...and having my command mech shut down. :frust:

Actualyl I liked the "Heat" system. I also like the Armageddon 2099's Power Points system. I like the idea that a combat robot can only do so much at once without over stressing it's capabilities.

And it's neck n' neck on the straight away!

Equal lead to 'Armored Core' and the Sentai school of giant robots in the polls.
Yet alas, poor Jehuty...no one loves thee :P
Still a few more days to go on this poll, and itching to see what genre comes out "THA WINNAH!" 8-)

me i like the Earth Siege style mecha (b4 it became tribes b4 Starsiege back with the Cybrids and Hercs) light bipedal weapons platforms with fixed hard points but with a modular weapons load out ie can switch out its weapons easily between battles

Gundam Leads by a nosehair...

Hmmm...
Gundam leads by 1 vote over the others :fool:
Much as I love the Armored Core universe (and mechs), my next write-up for the Phaseworld campiagn segment is gonna be a Sentai styled mech.
Anyone who has played Mekton Zeta (and has grabbed all the supplements that had been printed), their Mecha Manual #1 had a particular Mekton called 'Zeiru'.
I figured a little tweaking, and it would be a great "lost technology" plot hook, and a great foil for the Battleram.
Hell, I might even give it a limmited FTL drive system

BattleTech is my fave...It was my fourth ever gaming system(old boxed D&D, then Star Frontiers, then Gamma World:3rd ed).

While B-Tech mechs are kinda cool, I loves me some robots who can back-flip, cartwheel, and do kool kung-fu moves on giant monsters.
Go Go Raideen!!!

Bizzarrely enough, even though I am a major fan of the "Ultra-tech" mecha from Vandred, Z.O.E. or heck, even the E.S.'s from Xenosaga 2, I Voted for Armored Core.
What can I say; Anime styled mechs that look function like Battletech machines, but look like they could actulay work :D

Besides, any Gundam or Ultra-tech type mecha would wipe the floor with what ever is left of any CS they come across...that is if you don't "Kevin" them (I.E.: 6D6 md for a standard Mk1 Gundam beam sabre?!? or 1D6X10 md & 1000ft. range on a beam rifle????).

I like dunbine, but how about Armored trooper Votums? That would definitely be at the technological level of Rifts earth.

Votoms would definately fit.
In fact, a few of the Triax models seem VERY close in design to the Scope-dog, etc...
Though the Super-Trooper (Ubercavalierest) is sooooo 'Starship troopers' "Ape" suit it's not funny

actually be better than a CS human in FULL EBA using rifles.

the devastator main rifle is on par with a small arms.

what gives?

As I said...most of the mecha written up in the Rifts world books have been "Kevin'd", meaning that weapons do NOT scale based on size / function.
The Naruni 'toy book' that recently came out is a good example...the Energy scythe on the 50ft. tall robot (the Reaper I think it's called) only does 5d6 MD, and no rules for automatic lopping off of limbs.
That is NOT an energy melee weapon, as far as I'm concerned :P
