Where are the ChloroCats!?
Ever since I was a little kid, I've always thought that it would be cool to have chlorophyll based cats.
You wouldn't need to feed them, just give them some water now and then... and it's not like they don't already lie in the sun all the time...
My point?
Well, does After the Bomb have any rules for introducing plant attributes into animals?
I've also been curious what effect cell walls would have in animals... maybe a shell or other protective structure could be make..

well, you'd still have to feed them. not only would a cat lack the surface area to produce enough glucose to fuel its metabolism on its own, you still have to supply protein and minerals for muscle and bone growth. it would require less carbs though.
they'd also be rather ugly, no fur. hair blocks sunlight.

cell walls are the plant equivlent to bones or keritin, just structural material to keep the plant together.
now, celluose makes tree's very tough, but thats more mass than thoughness.
as for plant parts in animals... aside from clorophyll, what other parts would you be able to use?

Maybe you could use the Eugenics character from HUII (PUII) to effect this combination of plant and animal life. I don't think it really qualifies as a gestalt, although I suppose you could also give a cat APS Plant.
when you get right down to it, Sentinel's right.~Uncle Servo.

They already have furless cats.
But maybe they could just make them with green fur...

Don't know... not a botanist.
But (in TMNT at least) animals each have special abilities related to their species; winged flight, increased metabolism, ultravision, etc.
Plants gotta have nifty powers too...

I read or heard somewhere that a polar bear's fur is actually clear rather then white. It functions like fiber optics, transmitting the solar energy to the bears skin to warm it, while still keeping the bear warm. maybe cats with polar bear genes in addition to plant DNA?
Personally, I think that we have a duty as role-players to try to anchor each other to reality a bit. To keep other gamers from being complete freaks and weirdos, or even psychopaths, if we can. Killer Cyborg

hmmm... i forgot about that. might work. white furred cats with greenish skin.
as far as plant powers:
photosynthesis would be a popular one, the ability to produce alkaline poisons, chemical communication, ability to layer cellulose under skin (makes you harder to eat, animals can't digest cellulose. [bugs and bacteria can though.]) ......
hmm.. thats all i can think off that an animal might be able to use.

Also, sometimes a fungus grows inside the hollow hairs and the polar bears start looking green...

(re-arranged a bit)
Well, they're cold-blooded...cold-sapped... if this could be somehow carried over to animals, they could be hard to pick up on thermo.
-Resistant to temperature changes
-insect attraction/repellant
-breathe carbon dioxide
-immune to a lot of standard animal/human diseases
-water storage
-water collection (from dew, rain, etc...)
-Being green might be good cammo in the woods...
That's all I got at the moment...
