What would the PS for Mechas, including cyclones be? I noticed that it never states that in any of the books. I know that PS will not play a part in MD damage but in the terms if lifiting thing, it would be nice to see what the Mecha's limitations would be.

Thats definatly a good ideal. Thanks Zeb.

The Gladiator can lift like 17 tonnes per arm (or something crazy like that) I don't have the books infront of me so I can't remeber if that is RDF or REF. The VFs can go hand to hand with Zents and hold thier own pretty good (except against Breetai casue he is not built as weakly as other Zents).

I think I saw that somewhere as well. Pity I didn;t bring all my books with me. Hope it's in The Sentinels or REF Feild Guide book. Least gives me area to work with.

IIRC, the Sentinels book, has a blurb about Mecha strength set in it's adventure. Cyclones are PS:40, most mecha is PS:50, and Gladiators are PS:60.

I think that's woefully low for the larger mecha, but hey, it's a place to start...

Yeah, it's low, but it is a start.

There are robotic strength rules in the old Rifts Conversion book (I forget if they made it to the GMs Guide or the new conversion book). There's a certain ammount of applicability there . . . especially since it would make that standard Gladiator punch a 1D6x10 attack - now we can see why they can tear apart battle pods with thier bare hands.

but then we can apply the power creep across the playing feild, making Full Size Sents with PS's in the Thousands Deal 15 to 20 MDC per pop...

Or give them SN PS when giant sized and not worry about the X100 multiplier.

naw, still too low. Maybe double their PS and make it SN when giant.

hmm, Breetia with a 56 s/n PS in Giant mode:
Res punch: 1D6
punch: 1D6 x 10
p. punch: 2D6 x 10
kick for 4D6 and leep kick for 1D6x10

his initial attack on Ricks VF could be called a Leap attack, which pulls X2 dmg, make it a power punch, with huge Pipe.. Adding 1D6md...
for a total of 2D6 + 2D6 x 20 MDC on his initial assult. Somethign like 151dmg with average Rolls

oh, the Gladiatos Punch would only do 6D6 by the Robotic PS table (a Robotic 60 PS, pg 25 ur-RCB, 4th printing), but combined with the Glad's x3 nat20 hand to hand Crit... thats like 63 dmg on a avg rolled Crit.

Yeah. Makes those Zent Melee specialists really scary, don't it?

I usually used the SN damage table for the Robotic Damage Table, something about I figured the big bots were as strong as things like dragons so they should dish it out like them.

The RDF Gladiator can pickup and carry 15 tons according to the note under "optional hand to hand combat" for the Gladiator. I think that's about as much as a full sized Zentraedi with a PS of 1500.

I thought of one way to deal with the apparent lack of mecha strength.
Simply adapt Robotic PS from HU2.
Carry is PSx200, lift is PSx300. (IIRC)
That way, mecha don't seem as weak anymore.

for the worker bioriod I have used the following 2d4*10 for regular punch and 3d6*10 for a power punch, I know it is a little tough but look at the slow lumbering giant.
Move over Atlas cause this thing is simply the strongest thing in the megaverse.

I'd say the Worker bioroid is too slow to throw a punch that can connect with any force - but I pity da fool who lets one grab on.

Well, I think we all found some of the Flaws in the palladium Lift & Carry system for Robots... most of them cant lift the weapons they are suposed to carry, ect.

even the diffrences between Lifting and Carrying Rules between games, a Robotech Humans with the Impossibly high PS of 26 (not really impossibly high either thou) can Carry 50 times his ps, and Lift 100 times. While a Simmileer Humans born on Rifts earth is Limited to Carrying 20x and lifting 40x....

Next Time i make a Juicer, he's gonna be from Robotech Earth.. that way he can Carry 200x his PS and lift 400x his PS if he gets his PS over 24...

One Way KS has tried to explain it, how much you can carry has little to do whit how hard you hit, thats why the Variance in Damages between Robotic and SN str. Robotic PS is limited by Physics some, while SN str readily ignores it. a 34lb Goat with a SN PS of200 Deals the Same Damage as a Hundred Handed (from pantheons of the megaverse) While only the Largest Robots could hope to deal the anything close in damage.

of Corse, all you really need is for a Freelancer to Write in a 30 pound Robot with a PS of 60, dealing 2D4x10 MDC (x2 that on a P. Punch).

I've tried to Avoid a power Creap in Robotech, Keeping the Damage Charts as they are in the books, since i never have full Sized Zents as PCs.. the whole "Man my hand to hand damage sucks" topic is rarely a issue.
