How good do you expect your medics to be?

Persoanlly I expect my players to have some knowledge of what they are trying to do, and with my medics I expect the same making sure that they give at least a description of what they are trying to do. Does anyone else do something similar. I was thinking about giving soem crib sheets to players so that they could describe better what they are doing and there fore gain a bonus when rolling.

Honestly it has to do with the skill involved.
First aid
Are they Combat life savers?
Technicians?
Hard to get somebody to actually know what thier doing becuase that would require real medical training LOL

Yeah but I still expect that they have soem knowledge of what they should do, otherwise they just end up saying, 'well I treat him' and roll their dice
Role as opposed to Roll

I ask what the medic's objective is: Stabalize for transport, reduce pain/suffering, treat the wound, return to conscciuosness, turn into a superhuman cyborg . . . etc.
Then I decide how difficult that will be and let him roll.
