Can you tell us some details about the style? Could be Ed Parker's Kempo karate...
I know this sound dumb, but in the masters test you go to different stations where "heavy hitter" try to punch or kick through parts of your body.. I think it was called combat chi? or something like that.

There are tons of hybrids of the original Asian styles of martial arts. The same is true with American styles, with many masters branching off to train new apprentices who in turn branch off with a personal take on the style they learned. So, it could be ANY one of several main branches. There are "standard" styles taught to police academy cadets, then off-shoots taught to FBI and more lethal versions taught to Secret Service and CIA operatives and agents. Then mix in Special Forces washes. These people eventually leave those organizations and the knowledge trickles out to the general public when one of them opens a dojo, thus continuing that cycle of learning, modifying and teaching.

There is an American system called the 5 Way Method. I actually derived my forum name from it. As I am a big part of the orginization and system. But you all can check it out or pm me for any info on it. Its quite interesting and i'm trying to make a hth for it, but since I study it, I cannot remain objective about it. Plus I study several other arts and teach three so its hard for me not to have everything blended together in my head. Was never taught to seperate. Darn JKD methods! But I plan on sitting down and pulling out specifics for one but the bonuses and things like that need to be done by and outside overview of the art. Every body's art is superior to them, no matter how you slice it. An artist gravitates to his or her medium due to the set of mind, body, and spirit.
Oh yeah here is the link http://www.5waymethod.com/modules/xoopsfaq/

and here is a cool article that a good friend of mine wrote about martial arts and which is the best one.

we're a young group so we dont have a lot of response but we have plenty of info. That could easily translate to game. I use several things from my school in my games. I could start posting new abilites if you guys want them.

The FBI and CIA etc. don't learn anything more lethal than the next and I hate to break it to you, but up until about 2.5 years ago special forces had almost NO significant H2H training. AT ALL.
I read in an article somewhere that the Secret Service is trained in a knock-out strike that will take down your average size man instantly.
