Question for Erick Wujcik
Are you, after you finish China 3, gonna retro-convert all the new stuff from the Rifts China series and kick it out as the Mystic China sourcebook? Just asking in case I don't have to do the retro-conversions.
Sure you can ask questions. You might (and I'm not guaranteeing it) have a better chance of getting an answer by emailing Erick directly (at ewujcik@excite.com or his more current email erick_wujcik@47rpg.com ). I recommend (from long experience) that you don't simply ask an open-ended question though. I've found that asking the question and listing what you think is the possible answer (or answers) gets better results since Erick usually doesn't seem to have his books on hand (and it's been a few years since he's really looked at the material).

That's what I figured.Erick Wujcik wrote:Kuseru Satsujin wrote:Are you, after you finish China 3, gonna retro-convert all the new stuff from the Rifts China series and kick it out as the Mystic China sourcebook? Just asking in case I don't have to do the retro-conversions.
Some of the stuff in Rifts China 1, 2 and 3 were designed for the long-delayed 2nd Mystic China book.
Oh, I didn't think it was going to be anytime soon, I read your reply somewhere else about when you'd finish up with China 3 and figured it would have to come out after that at least. My concern was more whether or not I'd have to do it, or wait for it to come out. Now I can concentrate on other projects (I'd suck with deadlines, I've been working on one book for close to 10 years now...with no signs of being close to done (research has been bogging me down)).I definitely plan on doing more with N&S, and with Mystic China, but (1) working 60-70 hours a week for Ubisoft, (2) trying to learn Mandarin, and (3) keeping up with a few other obligations (for example, right now I need to work on shipping out the last Amberzine: www.phagepress.com) is keeping me a little busy.
Will I do it? Yes.
When will do it? I have no idea!
Erick
Of course, now I feel sorry that Naty didn't get her question answered.
Does that mean the excite.com email still works?Erick Wujcik wrote:Kuseru Satsujin wrote:Sure you can ask questions. Correct.

Ink can be mixed with flammable substances. Gunpowder and firecrackers were common in ancient China, as well as burnable oils.
One could also use a combination of spells, including Fill Object with Chi (2nd level) and Ignite Positive Chi (7th level).
Erick
Thanks.

Guess my Tao Shih will be picking up either kerosene or some high-proof alcohol for his traveling kit.

Just stock up on Molotov Cocktails, then you can blow them up while setting off the spell.
