Interior Artwork for N&S

Unread post by Guest »

Much like the New N&S Cover Art topic, I was wondering what artists people thought should do artwork for N&S (if any new books or even revised books come out for it). Share your thoughts.

Unfortunately, I doubt Palladium could afford to get Elmore to do all the interior artwork for a whole book. And, after the problems with the LOD2 cover, I doubt they'd try to contact him about it in the first place. :(

For interior art, the current crop of Palladium talent, plus Paul Gulacy would make me happy.

Okay, I should have said there are artists currently with Palladium who would be good.

And Paul Gulacy.

Honestly, there aren't many who I feel stand out in terms of a particularly strong martial arts flavor.

Don't forget though that N&S isn't solely about martial arts, you've also gotta have the "superspies" angle covered (not too mention the military and gadget guys).

Yeah, but they get coverage elsewhere.
Except for the Rifts' books and some HUII stuff, this is really where the martial arts stuff gets focused on.

I would sometimes rather see the Martial Arts Unlimited, or some thing, which dealt with martial arts for Palladium to the exclusion of anything else.

I wouldn't. I wouldn't mind seeing a martial arts expansion book that was nothing but stuff for martial arts, but N&S has a better setting than most of the other Palladium games, and I'd like to keep it and expand on it, instead of removing it for something like "sorta-superhero," "wannabe post-apocalyptic," "cthullu-wannabe," or "not-so generic, but still generic fantasy" genre expansions.

Moere of my N&SS games have been straight up martial arts action (at one time, all of my players were fans of Tony Wongs' Jademan Enterprises titles.) moreso than espionage.
Over time, N&SS became to book we plugged into the other Palladium games because we wanted Martial Arts for the other characters.
Most of my thoughts on this probably belong in another topic thread though, so, I'll leave it at that.

Unfortunately, I gotta add Apollo Okamura to that list. He does decent Asian-themed artwork, but after seeing his stuff in Merc Ops, keep him away from the superspies side of the book (it was the the funky looking versions of contemporary weapons and equipment that did his stuff in).

the Setting of Ninjas and Superspys is amazingly simple. it's "modern day" (as in the 80's and eairly 90's) earth with secret organizations running stuff and martial artists butting in, and some new basic "high tech" like cybernetics and lasers.

oh wait...that what you like about it? :)
