Almost Amish, in its' plainess.
Sadly Kevin Long doesn't do Palladium artwork anymore.

I'd rather see him back than see another Kent Burles or Dubisch pic that doesn't fit the book it's in. Of course, I do have to admit the original VU cover wasn't as plain as the Rifter 9.5 cover.

I didn't see that one.
Burles and Dubisch don't bother me (I've seen far worse in game art).
Ain't that the truth.
I like Kevin Longs non-mecha stuff quite a bit, although I find I agree with Steve Trustrum about his mecha stuff, and how it seemed more inspired when it mimiced other designs from other influences.
I never really cared that he basically used anime designs for his mecha, all the other artists that did so (like Newton Ewell, Apollo Okamura, Vince Martin, and a few others) had WAY better designs than the ones seen from Wayne Breaux, Kevin Siembieda, BCC and the like. Don't get me wrong, several of Wayne's designs are good, they're just not great.
Besides, the "artwork" from Secrets of the Samurai, Ninja The Invisible Assassins, Stone's weapon book (I'm not going to bother pasting the whole name in here), and other sources that Palladium uses (dating from the weapon series days, and somehow still making their way into books from N&S to Rifts Japan) without doing significant changes bothers me far more.
