RPG Design for Undercover Operations

So I was watching the X-Files again last night and saw something interesting. A "CIA" agent (I have my doubts about his validity, most spooks don't run around like cops yelling "CIA" everytime they're about to put their dastardly plan into motion) used his knowledge of Dungeons & Dragons to allay the suspicions of several conspiracy theorist geeks, and trap them in his master plan. At least I found a good way to use RPG Design in N&S...

"CIA" Agent: "Hey, there's a memorial D&D game going on in our room (at the hotel, in Las Vegas) in memory of Jimmy (a guy the agent setup to get killed through the use of some new "brainwashing" drug that made the victim extremely susceptible to suggestion...if only I could remember the full name of the AH drug and its antidote)."
Lone Gunman (the blond one with long hair): "Lord Mannheim will be there."
[In hotel room as LG walks in] "Hey, this isn't a D&D game..."

Of course, it was also fun to watch Scully act like a blond bimbo under the effects of the drug.

Might be an even better idea for a BTS/Mystic China campaign. Someone designs an RPG (prolly a LARP) that actually teaches the players how to use magic... or what ever.

Or, just have a lot of cool illustrations that are actually burnable spells. Or, if that seems too far fetched, have lots of Calligraphic Code (which may or may not be spell instructions).

Zylo wrote::lol: That episode was quite funny. I remember it well, with the "spook convention" and trying everything they could to get inside. Plus faking Mulder's voice to get Scully there and her acting like the bimbo was quite fun. I agree, finally a use for RPG Design!

I believe the blond Lone Gunman was Langly, and something I didn't notice right away, the CIA guy in disguise as a geek ended up playing Dr. Flox on Enterprise. The other LG were Byers and Frohike, and some of their episodes in the X-files were my favorites. I was also one of the 5 people that enjoyed the spin off show too. Not that it matters now... :)

I still can't believe they cancelled the spin-off show after only a few episodes.
