1. origionally all of them advance.

2. the notes you are refering to apply only to the revised version of hero's unlimited. which is now outdated and replaced by hero's unlimited second edition. meaning the notes you refer to no longer have any bearing.

there are new conversion notes for the ancient master to N&SS found in the second edition HU book itself, ignore the part in the back of the N&SS book itself.

Not in the revised edition, it doesn't. It states "two (2) martial art forms, or one (1) "exclusive" forms."

how do these forms advance when the character gains a level of experience? Do all three martial art forms advance a proficiency level, bringing them to 11th, 4th, and 4th? Or do only the secondary forms advance until they eventually reach 10th level proficiency, after which all three forms move on to 11+ together?

There's only two ways they can really go, either they advance as the character levels up, stopping at level 15 or they don't advance until the character hits those levels of experience. Either way is fairly moot since HU2 no longer uses those conversions.

You're forgetting that the conversions were modified from the original to reflect the castration of the DMA in the revised edition. So yes, Note 1 matters more than notes 2 and 3, especially since note 1 was the only one changed between the editions.

They are holdovers from the original edition. The person that made the revised edition changes didn't bother reading the book when making the changes.

Actually, it doesn't clearly give them three styles with note 1 in there, if you take one style you get it at 10th level, if you take the two styles you get them at 3rd level.

Funny, I've already pointed out that note one clearly says "OR" so your argument is pretty moot.

I'm reading it pretty literally, and the word "or" does not appear in the description in points #2 and #3.
