Given that the upgrade description outright specifies the MDC *per leg* I'd have to say they have their own totals.

It would still be main body for a centaur (horse) or spider design, there's just substantially more main body to work with now. For an insect design youd actually be adding another distinct segment to the body which would justify a seperate MDC count plus the risk of completely immobilizing the suit if it's crippled. Centaur and spiders just dont have a segmented body to justify a seperate MDC tally for the "lower torso".

i thought about modeling a Host Armor off the Crab Men RCC for its looks awhile back.
Then i built it...worked great

i believe i gave the Lower leg segments its own MDC = to another mainbody.
i'm not sure i'll have to find the character sheet to make sure.

i'm reading the book right now.
It says the "Lower Body" is its own section.
It has its own MDC location.
The MDC of the Lower Body = 3d6x10 MDC
So no i would not add "lower body" to the "main body" MDC.
Hope that helps

You could reverse the two
3d6x10 for the Humanoid
4d6x10+60 for the centar lower body
Or
Roll both, and give the one with the highest MDC to the Centar Half, while the Humanoid half get the lowest roll.
This is the main reason why i perfer the Crab/Spider lower body. It doesnt have to be bigger than the humanoid half.
Also, quick question ?
IS your Centaur-Host Armor going to a Herbivore Metabolism ??
If so, I'd 100% give the Centaur half the higher of the rolls for MDC. Place its stomachs down there too.
As for MDC per level, same as main body, and the legs gain the same as normal legs do each, 1d6 per level.

yeah i feel something was cut too. Or just overlooked in general.
I would believe it would really depend on how Big the new Lower Body was in general.
Something like a Crab Warrior (Rifts New Navy), is what i think about in size from the way its writen though. Just big enough to fit the extra-limbs to.
So a "Centaur" Lower body might be scaled Down big time. With the Upper Toro coming from the center of the back of the horse-like lower body. But thats the "Base appearance".
Now if you Add all sorts of weapons and features into the lower half, then it might reasonibly get bigger to fit all that extra stuff.
Say your giving it Bio-Missile launchers, the lower body changes to more of a Horse-like rear end, extending backwards from the Torso like a real Centaur in picture/image. The Bio-missiles launch from the horse-like back/sides most likely...
Myself, i'd treat the New Lower Half as another Mainbody for others to target. Give it the Same "Base" MDC as the Upper Body Main Body for Free. Extra MDC should still be bought for the Lower Body seperatly though. But this is all solved cheaper through Bio-Force Field
