And now another poll question for our beloved fanzies...
Are the armidillo heads all they're cracked up to be (ultimate warriors, my mivoks!)?
Can Skarrins really 'scare' the dren out of peace keepers, or are they just iguanas with adequacy issues? (Note; they can take a pulse-plasma blast to the chest and just sneer while they rip yer' stinking head off)
Kreeghor; Iguanas with old-one envy, or just really really REALLY mean, lean galaxy cracking machines? (Note; though their pictures make 'em look goofy, they also have planet busting tech...and bio-wizardry...and bio-tech...and techno-organic devices...and did I mention they were mean?)

Plus a few other nasty dudes (and fine fine fine...even though they've been polled and debated to death; Zentraedi).

You the geeks decide! :D :P :D :P :D :P :D :P

Dang...one other race I should have listed...The Daleks!
Even at age 31 I still get the screaming whillies when I hear their famous war-cry:
"EX-TER-MI-NATE"

You want bred for war? These rolling (now flying, for those of you who have watched the newest Dr. Who series) pepper pots are damn scary, if only in their single minded goal of total domination / destruction of the time-space continum.
Add to that a man-portable (kinda) x-ray laser, near impenatrable shells and the equivelent of a several megawatt fusion-reactor in that shell...oi!
Davros you magnificent bastard...look at what you have wrought... :demon:

All about the humanity.

No one else is quite adaptive, prolific, and down right psychotic enough to stop us.

Arguments?
Almost doesn't count; except in horseshoes, tiddly-winks, and hand grenades.

Ah, the Luxans...Kilingons with better wardrobes and beaks on their noses ;)
Yeah they're okay, but they don't have much of a fleet or standing army; thus the reason they didn't make it to the poll. :fl:

No arguments..both you and Az brought up the points quite nicely ;-)
In Larry Nivins' expanded Man/Kzinn & Ringworld universe, humanity had been 'forced' to give up their warlike tendancies by the 'Arm' (sorta like thought police in "1984")...but when the Kzinn showed up on the block...

The Yautja I believe, the older warriors (we're not even getting into their ships, did you see the hole?!) are a match for entire armies in the right environment. Though the Aliens are just as bad. Giant acid-blooded cockroaches with super strength and agility, and all those nasty teeth... and just like cockroaches, you cant seem to ever get rid of them all.

As for the poll, I have to go with humans. We may be physically inferior (depending on the continuum), but we overcompensate in a number of ways. And we seem to have a spirit that just won't die. Whoah, I think I just channeled a cheerleader for a second. I don't know whether to be creeped out or go have a cigarette... 8-)

which books is that in ?

I've read a few of Niven's stuff (Neutron Star, Man-Kzin Wars I, and part of one of the Ringworld books -- sorry I've forgotten the name).

I enjoyed the Kzin stories thoroughly and I usually pattern the various Feline Races in Aliens Unlimited after them (Pume, Felias, Concol, etc).

First printing of 'Man/Kzin Wars I' is where we find out about 'The Arm'.
At first humanity was just "monkey meat" to the Rat-Kats...it wasn't until one engineer managed to kit-bash his vessels' photon drive into an effective offensive system that The Arms' psycho-conditioning started to come apart...and The Arm had no choice but to allow forbidin knowledge back out.
It was that or be bred as cattle.

Very true, plus we 'created' all the other warlike races in the poll...

Not to mention they seem to only abduct the most inbred morons this race has to offer. Talk about a flawed study! Next time you can do us a favor by keeping them for vivisection. :demon:

They may have their reasons for wanting to work in secret.
They may fear retaliatory strikes.
They may feel the need to gather more data before commiting to such a grand scale operation.
