After seeing the new military armors provided in the HUGMG, I decided I somewhat liked the idea, but it should be adapted to more contemporary armor styles, so I started working on the following addition to vehicle armors:
Military Armor, Light Metal (Aluminum): A.R. 13 S.D.C. 800 Stops pistols, rifles, light machine guns under .50 caliber up to PV 9. $5000, 1200lbs
Military Armor, Medium Metal (Thin Steel): A.R. 14 S.D.C. 1000 Stops pistol, rifle, machine gun, and fragments up to PV 10. $20,000 3600lbs
Military Armor, Heavy Metal: A.R. 18 S.D.C. 2000 Stops pistol, rifle, machine gun, and fragments up to PV 11. $100,000 10,000 lbs
Military Armor, Light Composite: A.R. 13 S.D.C. 400 Stops pistols, rifles, light machine guns under .50 caliber up to PV 9 $7500 800 lbs
Military Armor, Medium Composite: A.R. 14 S.D.C. 500 Stops pistol, rifle, machine gun, and fragments up to PV 10. $20,000 2500 lbs
Military Armor, Heavy Composite: A.R. 18 S.D.C. 1000 Stops pistol, rifle, machine gun, and fragments up to PV 11. $150,000 7000 lbs
Military Armor, Light Laminate: A.R. 13 S.D.C. 800 Stops pistols, rifles, light machine guns under .50 caliber up to PV 11
Military Armor, Medium Laminate: A.R. 14 S.D.C. 1000 Stops pistol, rifle, machine gun, and fragments up to PV 12.
Military Armor, Heavy Laminate: A.R. 18 S.D.C. 2000 Stops pistol, rifle, machine gun, and fragments up to PV 13.
Military Armor, Light Ablative:
Military Armor, Medium Ablative:
Military Armor, Heavy Ablative:
Composite Military Armor: (uses rigid, resin-bonded kevlar and carbon-aluminum composites) Same AR as metal armor, weighs less, costs more. Half S.D.C. though
Laminate Military Armor: (uses a complex mix of steel plates and ceramic blocks, sometimes reinforced with metallic mesh--CHOBHAM) Double AR vs HEDP or HEAT rounds.
Ablative Armor: Armor is easily chipped or melted away, reducing the energy of an attack. Improved AR that quickly goes away at a 10:1 damage ratio. Also available as fireproof ablative material. Lower weight per AR than laminate.
As you can see, it still needs quite a bit of work, as well as options for aircraft and naval vessels.
