Agency Creation Contest

Unread post by Guest »

Yet another contest that should be fun. This one is basically a "create a group" contest.

Rules & Guidelines

1. Name your agency. If using an acronym for the name, provide the full explanation as well as the acronym (for example, the CIA is the Central Intelligence Agency).

2. Any of the various group design options available in Palladium Books can be used, as long as the agency has some relation to N&S. (i.e. Agency creation from N&S, Organization creation from VU, Travelling Show creation from Vampire Kingdoms, Mercenary Organization creation from Rifts Mercenaries, Supernatural Organziations from Boxed Nightmares, etc.). In addition any options can be used, such as my modified Agency or Martial Arts Organzization creation rules, your own home-brewed options, etc.

3. Contestants can enter as many agencies as they want.

4. No conversions of agencies from movies, TV, anime, video games, other RPGs, or comic books. Please follow this rule. Remember, "Do not post any conversions of intellectual properties belonging to other people."
However, real world agencies, such as the CIA, FBI, Mossad, Red Brigade, KGB, etc. can be converted for the contest.

5. These entries should look professional and well done. That means use spell check to check the spellings of your words, do not use non-Palladium standard abbreviations, use correct punctuation, make your grammar understandable (I don't care if it's perfect grammar, but if no one can understand your statement, that's not good). For formatting, keep in mind that it should look like the samples provided in the books for those groups provided as examples of the group creation.

6. Feel free to include as much extra information as you want, a history of the agency, agency NPCs, special vehicles, equipment, & weapons of the agency, etc. Agency symbol, motto, uniform styles, organization, location, headquarters, policies and practicies, , goals, size, activities, known allies & enemies, structure, front company/cover, and anything else you want ot add is also recommened. More is better in this case.

The Categories
Award categories are based on the following:
Most Humorous Agency
Most Useful Agency
Coolest Agency Name
Best Fictional Agency
Best Real World Conversion
Best New Organization Option (This can be a whole new option category (i.e. Headquarters for N&S agencies) or a new level of that category (Almost None as the level of security for a typical city police department as given for the example in N&S).)
Best New Agency NPC
Best New Agency Peripheral (Vehicle, Equipment, Weapon, etc.)
Honorable Mention (This is for anything that makes the agency otherwise stand out).

Best Overall Agency will be awarded based on a composite result of the scoring from the award categories in each class. If a tie occurs, final voting will be handled by a poll.

Each category will have a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winner.

Judging will be handled by a voting system. After the contest is complete, each entry will be reposted and everyone picks their favorite agency for each award category. Voting will run at least two weeks.

The Time Limit
The contest will start Friday, August 12th, 2005 and run until Friday, September 23th, 2005.
