Houses

I haven't seen much on the Great Houses in the main book, and I haven't looked anywhere else for additional Splicers stuff. The way I imagine things, I see the society of the Great Houses similar to the society of the people living underground in the first book of the Sunset Warrior Cycle. If you don't know the book, info on it can be found
here
Has anyone else read these books? Would you consider Ronin's culture similar to that of a Splicer character?

That book looks like a good read. How many are in the series?
From what little I've read about Splicers, mostly from a friend's book (flipped through it) and from these boards, the entire game reminds me of the comic C-23 by Jim Lee (which I think I'm the only person in the world that has read it) that came out 5-6 years ago. It was about two societies on a post-apocalyptic planet in a state of perpetual war. They had both survived a terrible plague that had wiped out most of humanity, but in different ways. One group fled into underground cities, and used advanced technology (cybernetics). The other group consists of those who for some reason or another were deemed unworthy of a place in the underground cities (most likely through a lottery system, or a selection of canidates that would be most useful in rebuilding society), but who were able to develop organic technology based on insects. Insects being the only living beings on the planet that were immune to the plague.
The comic takes place a few hundred years after the plague, and both sides see the other as raiding barbarians and themselves as a truly civilized society.
The story centers around an event that upsets the status quo, and eventually leads to both sides realizing they have more in common than they first thought. That part doesn't fit the game setting, for some reason I don't see the machines becoming a cuddly with humanity, but the basics of the setting are so similar that when I get the Splicers book I'm going to use the comics as campaign inspiration. Especially in the descriptions of Splicer strongholds, and living areas of humans.

There are four books in the Sunset Warrior Cycle. The first book is very different from the last three, however, because it takes place in a totally different culture. They're all damn good books, however.
I've heard of C-23 before, but never read any. I just have a hard time dropping $5 for a 30 page book that takes me 5 minutes to read - every single month. Wasn't there a CCG made based on that series?

I'm not sure, but if there is it might be picking some packs up just to checkout the art on them. I agree about the price on comics, especially with the corresponding decease in story quality.

But inregards to the Houses, I cant help but think DUNE.
Only instead of Water being ALL important, the Houses live for Bio-E.
