They are finally getting into the story behinde the story in GD, filling in the deep background of the reasons why things are the way they are.

Use to be Marvel but they suck so much at the moment that my favourite is now DC.

Favourite character would be Mr Fantastic, Deadpool then Batman.

I have always been fascinated with the Marvel characters and their flawed natures: The Thing, Sub-Mariner, Spider-Man, Daredevil, The Hulk, Man-Thing, were all among my early favorites.
As a young boy, I was certainly intrigued by characters from DC: Batman, Flash, Green Lantern, Hawkman, all were excellent reads, but for all that I liked them, they didn't quite offer up the same qualities of Marvel stories.
After the "second wave" as I called it (the time after Jack Kirby came back to Marvel from DC), both companies began to offer much more similar story styles. Captain America became the quintessential super-hero to Marvel, while DC heroes became more of the fractured heroes we'd seen in Marvel for so long. Green Lantern/Green Arow and the Ras Al Ghul stories in Batman were a huge step for DC away from the sort of pristine "life is good" stories, while in Marvel, we began to see that all was not doom and gloom for our heroes.
After the introduction of the New Teen Titans (Wolfman and Perez), the cross-breeding of the two companies was pretty much complete. If you wanted an Everyman hero, you had choices other than Spider-Man. Handicapped heroes? No longer limited to Daredevil. Man-Monsters? Both companies have them.

I once read an essay that compared Superman to the Ego of America, while Sub-Mariner was Americas' darker Id.
I always found that interesting as a comparisson, particularly since the two characters on close inspection are so similar.

Marvel's Darkhawk (Issues 1-25). Don't remind me about the cosmic power upgrade issues 26-50.

Can't wait for for the big M to do a Ultimate reboot of the character.

Darkhawk was a great comic.
The Spider-Man cross-overs were great, especially Round Robin: The Sidekicks' Revenge.
Darkhawks' appearances with the New Warriors were great.

One of the best characters to come out of the early 90's from Marvel.
Still had a lot of the darkness in story telling which was becoming absent from Marvel comics post 1980s.
Round Robin was a good Darkhawk crossover as well as the New Warriors story which tied up the Night Thrasher origin arc.
Also one of the most out of place characters in the Avengers West Coast.

His apperance in the first Max War Machine series was quite unexpected and very cool. Chris going cannibal on AIM troopers was really funny. Also his resurrection after Doom blow his head off was hilarious.

"Rouge3" makes me to laugh.

I think Spiderman, maybe. Or Batman. Or Elrod the Albino. It's too close to call.

I tend to like more DC characters, tho, so i voted for them.

I might not agree totally, but I would say that he is one of the most important, along with Superman, Human Torch, and Sub-Mariner and Wonder Woman, all for different reasons.

While Batman certainly had a messed up childhood, in his initial appearances, he was more stable and balanced as a personality. The real fractured personality heroes were coming from Timely (Marvel) in the forms of the Torch and Namor.
Batman however represents the pinnacle of the self-made hero (except for the fortune, which he inherited). Only Doc Savage from the Pulps exemplified this more than Batman.

Spider-Man represents an element of realism in comic book heroes unmatched at the time by other heroes: he was truly an "everyman" kind of character, right down to having to live with the consequences of his actions (or, in-actions in his case). Even Batman can't say that: nothing about his childhood tragedy is of his making.

I liked the Ostrander run of The Spectre. Although I didn't get to finish the last few books, it was still one of the best written/drawn books I've ever read. I like the biggest enemies being themselves, and Ostrander did great with telling that aspect of the story.

Even during the time as a kid when I was almost totally Marvel, I always enjoyed DCs' Flash (Barry Allen), Green Lantern (Green Lantern/Green Arrow), and Batman (I was lucky enough to catch the end of the Ras Al Ghul stories by O'Neil and Adams).

I liked the JLA as well, and the New Gods, which were just starting up as I was becoming more interested in comics.
I always liked Atom, Hawkman, Doctor Fate, and reprints from the Golden Age featuring the Ray, Black Condor, and The Spectre.
I also had a fascination with Tarzan, Korak, and John Carter.

Who could forget such great titles as Magnus: Robot Fighter, Mighty Samson, and Turok, Son of Stone?
Gold Keys' Star Trek was also one of my favorites.

Marvels' books progressively became more central to me, and I almost exclusively followed Marvels' team books (Avengers, FF, Invaders, Defenders, X-Men) and many of the solo heroes (Thor, Cap, Iron Man, Ms. Marvel, Nova, Daredevil).

I always liked Marvels' reprint books like Tales to Astonish (Sub-Mariner), Marvels' Greatest Comics (FF) Marvel triple Action and Super Action (Avengers) and Astonishing Adventures (X-Men).

In the late '70s, I followed many of the liscensed projects from marvel including Rom, Micronauts, Shogun Warriors and Godzilla.
I liked Star Wars at first, but over time the stories became lackluster. I was a big fan of Battlestar Galactica and followed the first 20 issues of the comic.
