Cosmo Knight philosophies...

Anyone interested in seeing a little blurb (probably for the Rifter, but at this point I should just get my own Phase World website) about the different philosophical groups that make up the Cosmo Knights?

it would include things like...

- the guys who are dedicated to utterly eradicating evil

- the guys who believe there must be a balance in the universe between good and evil, light and dark

- Cosmic Crusades

- what Fallen Knights think

- The mythical Lords of Entropy (evil Cosmo Knights with full powers)

Anyway... its just something in my head at the moment. Which means I should write it down in the next day or so, before I get bored with the idea and move on to something else.

Absolutely.

And as we've discussed before, wouldn't mind similar looks for the Knightly Orders in Brave New Wormwood. :)

edit - as a note, beyond just a look at the philosphy that would be a great chance to show some Key Cosmo Knights and even give a glimpse to some semi-permanent locations for the socities to meet/rest/live.

I got the idea for the Lords from Anvil Galaxy... under the Omegan Order there is an adventure seed about a small group of Fallen Knights that gt their powers back.

Also, they make sense in terms of game ballance.

As for their powers... every light casts a shadow.

I've seen your references to Lords of Entropy around the board. I'd be interested in any info on them that you're willing to share. Origin, goals, power source, favorite colors, preferred flavors of ice cream, etc...

Very roughly...

In the Chronicals of the Cosmos (Anvil Galaxy book), it says that after the Forge was tricked into destroying the First Race, it killed the One... but that "the flames" of destruction continued to run amok throughout the universe. Eventually these flames settled down, but continue to roam the Three Galaxies to this very day, changing people (making them into Cosmo Knights).

So the Lords are those ancient few who were touched by the flames when they were still destructive in nature.

Their goal is to drive the Forge out of hiding.

They dress in dark colours, and do most of their dirty work by convincing other races to trust them, and to do what they say. They have been responsible for countless wars during the Third Galactic Era (this one), and may have been the force that caused the Dominators to go on their rampage 50,000 years ago.

They are evil, and very smart.

They don't eat ice cream, because they don't need food.

Sounds interesting. Nice to see that they appear to be an NPC only kind of thing. I can't even imagine how quickly people would be wanting to play evil CKs if the option were available...

Oh yeah, isn't there a paragraph in the Anvil Galaxy book that mentions a planet struck by a mysterious light that ended up with a lot of its population getting the powers of a CK? Or did that memory spring from the fertile depths of my twisted imagination?

That's because they are all cut and pasted from one generation unto another.

What always slayed me about the Cosmo Knight credo was the line about "Are respectful to those that deserve it" - oh, the fun that you can have with that...

Speaking of which... weren't they supposed to come out with a book along these lines, which would also go more in-depth with the Forge War?
Guess the meat-bags sidelined it...

that kind of organization requires, well...organization, when it says pretty clearly cosmo knights rarely intereact.

it's like saying operators have various "codes" sure, all have the same general prinicples, but each cosmo knight is individual. they rarely even meet, I highly doubt they'd have any organized system of beliefs other than "fight the good fight"
