MANTIS Host Armor

OK, i found this pictures Years ago, when it was posted on the Rifts boards. If anyone remembers the website, please, please repost it. I lost the orginal copies i had. I'd love to use the Color picture of this character too.

Thanks.

As for the Host armor i wrote using it.
I'm saving Bio-E from leveling up for : Bio-Force Field, Flight speed increases, extra-strength, running speed, ect...

ManDrake13 wrote:That's a wicked looking suit of armor. Just looking at it I'm guessing the following:

Omnivore Host Armor
Compound Eyes
Antennae
Reinforced Exoskeleton
Additional Pair of Insect Limbs
Hands: Armored Skin
Hands: Scythes
Arms: Elongated Arms
Fully Functional Wings :insect style
Reinforced Shoulders
Reinforced Knees
Several Pairs of Horns or Combat Spurs?

Am I about on target?

Add Antenna with Additional eyes on the end. To look around corners, ect...
Change metalism to Carnivore though. Mantis = meat eater ;)
Add chamleon skin to change colors to hide.
Add Exoskelton feature, and Bio-force field

This was the first HA i made as a player. I was not the best combatant. Very stealthy, and when he got close, BAMM, crush/slices with those mantis arms.

Nope, not yet. Might get Neddle Deathblossum later on :D
He is built to Hide, to ambush for Melee combat.

He has a PS of over 60, so this melee attacks with his mantis arms are really useful to damage foes he ambushes.

ManDrake13 wrote:Hey I remembered that I did have a Rifts book with some HU in it to draw from. Rifts: Mutants in Orbit had a section on Mutant Insects and more importantly it has the rules for Mandibles in there. They match up very closely to the Fangs, Tusks or Saber Teeth rules under offensive weapons section on p. 95. So it should read Fangs, Tusks, Mandibles and Saber Teeth or something like that. So you could just add that as well to keep the image up.

And now your comment about Exoskeleton makes sense as well. It seems very inexpensive for all the MDC listed in my book. So they start off with more, but can't buy any additional improvements beyond what they get per level? It still doesn't seem fair because it's almost the same value in MDC as if you got every improvement possible with Increased MDC for only 20 BIO-E. Or is there a version for human transformed into Insectoid sort of class that has different totals that you're using?

Well i used Carnivore metabalism for the Mantis HA.
I just used the base Bite damage for carnivores. The head seen in the picture is not one designed for massive attacks using the mouth.

Well i bought Reinforced Exoskeleton yeah. He can still buy addition MDC, Reinforced body parts too. Instead i opted for Bio-Force Field, Chamlean Skin, Stealth Field (bought at a later level).
Where did you get they cannot buy additional improvements beyond what they get per level ? They still can get any of the Increased MDC, Reinforeced Body Parts, ect...
??? Human Transformed into Insectoid Class ???
No, just a normal Dreadgaurd OCC HOST Armor is what i used.

Cool mantis keep it small & compact for the sewers. Add a escape ability by dropping off the lower body that be different.
