Beyond Dirty Tricks in HTH Combat

Dirt in the eyes, gouging, biting, pinching, low blows...these are all the tools of the dirty fighter.

But what about the really nasty stuff?

Athlete's Foot and a barefoot kick.

A leper ripping his own infected arm off and beating you with it.

A hold or lock when the attacker has necrotizing faciitis.

Someone who hasn't bathed putting you in a hold where your face is in his armpit.

A pustule popped onto an unsuspecting victim.

A rabies victim biting his target.

A victim of toxic waste entangling a poor victim (Robocop anyone?).

An insane man stabbing you with his gangrene coated shiv.

Get those saving throws ready folks, it's time to discuss biological hand to hand combat.

Well, heck, let's start with the basics... how do you ajudicate something as simple as:

1) "I throw dirt in his eyes!"

2) "I kick him in the groin!"

Called shot? Blindness for one, but what's the penalty for someone scoring a goal in crotch soccer?

We already covered these years ago.

Saving throw vs pain if kicked in the groin.

There is an Indonesian art dedicated to dirty tricks. I belive its called Bakidi Tursha ( I brutalized the spelling) its a silat style based on bitting, scratching and yes tickling( believe me, tickling is not fun when somebody has fingers that feel like steel). My teacher basically broke the system down as any method that an old dirty man would use in a fight. Pretty much any dishonarable thing you can think of has a place in this system. Using the silat posistioning and footwork methods based on the punktjar platform(again my spelling is horrible when it comes to these Indonesian terms)

Save vs Disease for most, or toxins for toxic waste.

How sad is my life that I have expereinced both of those. You don't notice the athlete's foot...untill you lock in the toe hold...and then you crank it hard and fast to you don't have to touch it long.

And grappling the unwashed in the armpit? Sadly enough, you get use to it.

Well at minimum the person hit will operate on a impaired level for about two hours*. At most the shock and hemoraging will kill someone**. I personally find it to be a very effective manuver, And there is a reason for first aid techniques to remove a man's testies from their abdominal cavity in Jujitsu.

*As stated by Joeseph Carter, Black belt in Wu sho (sp) and student in five other arts.

**Warning from a law enforcement training guide.

You mean the third hour of Moshing, honestly you sort of don't realy notice it at that point. Other than that you escape any way you can.

Every legitament Hand To Hand combat instructor would disagree with that argument, So would the medical doctors I know. While my Major is psychology I do have a working knowledge of how to make the body stop working from 14 years of Mixed Martial Arts training.

The groin is a soft squishy area that is filled with sensitive nerves and lots of blood vessels. Any stong impact to that area will do significant damage.

Due to the area involved I am not posting links as there are minors on this forum.

First I doubt you have been doing Mixed Martial Art training in the sense it is normally described.
Getting hit in the groin hurts, but not as bad as people act like for self defense purposes.
In training I have been, kneed, kicked, had people fallen with their knee all on my junk. It hurts, but it has never stopped me.

I'm somewhere in between Greese and the Wushu guy on this.

I've been kicked, etc. It's a pain in the balls, literally, but usually a pain that can be ignored. OTOH, I've seen a a very large BB laid low for a couple of weeks due to an unluckily hard shot.

I will also add that it is usually quite difficult to get a kick into that spot versus a trained or experienced fighter. It should be, at any rate. You're usually better off going for something else if you're still on your feet.

Hyperextending the knee or elbows, pushing the cartiledge of the nose into the brain, instep stomp, etc. All these would ruin someone's day

I started my combat training at the age of 9 and I've always been told, "take advantage of the junk!" If you have any concept of what you are doing you keep an eye out for an opening to strike your opponent's junk- all while making sure to protect yours.

I've used it more than once when being grabbed from behind and it's EXTREMELY effective!
