Church of God for All Sentients

Unread post by allmarduk »

Here's something for a faction in the society of the planet Earth of After the Bomb: the Church of God for All Sentients, called the CGAS for short. A human named Zarek Zarkon had a vision of God who called upon him to promote tolerance for both humans and intelligent animals. Zarkon soon preached his vision of God, who he described as a sort of celestial sun who shines upon all beings, humans aas well as non-humans. He soon gathered five disciples: Gus the Dog, Amalthea the Cat, Avian Jones the Giant Bird, Kevin Kossack the Rabbit, and Paulus the Bipedal Lizard. Together, they wandered across North America promoting their word of God and tolerance for all intelligent beings, and gathered an increasing number of followers. Then, Zarek Zarkon was executed by soldiers of the Empire of Humanity as a traitor to the humaan race. His disciples founded the Church of God ffor All Sentients, with Gus the Dog as first Patriarch of the CGAS and Amalthea, Avian Jones, Kevin Kossack, and Paulus as the first bishops, and soon they gathered the bulk of Zarkon's supporters into the church.
There are now five priestly orders within the CGAS: the Orthodox priesthood, which is headed by the Patriarch of the entire Church; the Healing Order, founded by Amalthea the Cat, which provides both medical care and clerical services; the Holy Order of Warriors, who serve both as priests and as soldiers who protect the CGAS, being founded by Avian Jones the Giant Bird; the Contemplative Order, which is composed of monks and runs the church's monasteries, being founded by Kevin Kossack the Rabbit; and the Questing Order, founded by Paulus the Bipedal Lizard, whose priests try to reconcile science and religion.

LOL Bible bangin' animals :lol:

I can see it falling apart when it's explained to the animals that they were originally seen by the followers of the christian god as soulless beasts that were created as beasts of burden and food for humanity.

I doubt if any of these CGAS would last an hour among the Free Cattle.

Frantly, I think if you were to bring something like this into your game you would want to make sure your players were cool with it. Personally, I leave religion out of my games with the exception of the occasional tribal shaman outside Cardania.

Why not just call Zarek Zarkon Zebulon while you're at it?

Amalthea = Almathea.

Paulus = Paulus.

The Celestial Sun = The Celestial Sun.

About as subtle as a claw hammer enema.
